They are prepping for the Miiverse/NN merge that is happening in September/October.
Why doesn't Wii U have their own Animal Crossing game? Why would they release it just for the 3DS?

It seems to be the pattern with animal crossing games. Console version (gamebube), handheld (DS), console (Wii), handheld (3ds), and relatively soon will be a Wii U version. I guarantee it.
And i'll buy it there as well. Imagine punchy and rover but with high res textures and 1080p.

They gave a timeframe on how long the Animal Crossing Plaza was going to be around, my gut is telling me that we will a version for the Wii U announced soon, with this being a built in feature.
I was playing with this earlier and holy shit it's really pretty.
I would pay actual dollars for a Wii U AC game if it looked like this.
