I don't know if anyone remembers or has a link to it but I remember reading one about a Russian/Siberian underground cave system that the government covered up and sent troops and scientists to investigate. It then detailed how creatures would be found but didn't describe them and then there was some silly twist where the above ground facility received a message from some commander underground and realized the commander had been confirmed KIA in one of the earlier exploratory teams.
