• Small Gaming Build - £400 - £500 budget or $640 - $800

I'm in desperate need of a small gaming computer, nothing special. I don't play alot of 'hardcore gfx games.' I just like to run older games on nice graphics. (Namely Stalker, source games etc. But I do like running newish games, like Metro 2033 and stuffs.) Some random facts that may help: I'm from the UK. My first time building a computer, since I've always used prebuilts and are really sick of them now. I own a Monitor, mouse and keyboard. I won't be recyling ANYTHING from my old computer because it's probably destroyed. I don't know how to overclock. I probably can't go over my current budget. Yeah, if you need some more information lemme know. My old specs: Also my GPU is integrated.
Newegg don't ship internationally and even if they did customs would probably add tax.

Anyway the least you could have done was mention scan.co.uk, Ebuyer.com. dabs.com Im no where near up to date with the latest tech but wait until August anyway for the new series of Gpu's to come out. Have some fun whilst the sun is out :D ps im sure someone will pop up eventually with a build for you using current technology.
You don't get banned for swearing. Just say you don't fucking like it or that you are a fuckwad and you won't get banned, usuallt. And your current PC is totally OK, just get a new GPU. And why would it be destroyed? Also, Overclocking is VERY easy, don't say you won't.
Why does everybody think the next gen of GPUs are going to be released this year? Each generation has taken AT LEAST a year and it hasn't even been that.
And your current PC is totally OK, just get a new GPU. And why would it be destroyed? I didn't say I wouldn't overclock, I just said I didn't know how.
If you don't know how, you shouldn't, you can fuck shit up EASILY if you do something wrong. EDIT: Overclocking, that is. It also shortens the life of your part.
It's extremely hard to "fuck shit up" while overclocking unless you're retarded..And shortens the life of your part? Been running a Q6600 for several years OC'd to 3.5GHz, never had a problem..
Because being truthful is mean... okay.
Your current computer is perfectly fine All you need is a good graphics card, say an AMD 6850 and 4GB of RAM and you will be all set With these I have basically the same pc (except mine has ddr3 instead of ddr2) and I can run crysis 2 on max settings

I put the specs there to give an idea of what my old computer was. Also bump.
Can you reuse the OS?
Nope, Lost the key.
500 pounds budget - 120 = 380 left for pc, which isn't enough.
500 pounds budget - 120 = 380 left for pc, which isn't enough.
But an OS is £75 not 120.
425 still is really tight.
Dont be so mean (id use a stronger word but id proberly get banned and having just come back from a ban I dont want to risk it.)
How was he fucking mean?
Bump, found my OS key.
What is the native res of your current screen?
Screw it, I can't find a good enough build for your budget.
This is the cheapest I could get it while still being good build, allowing for overclocking and Crossfire. http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/2d20e4f237ba40ffbdd4f9ae53bfe936 This is cheaper but it doesn't allow for overclocking or crossfire. http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/235b3f79b0bc4c8d84313922f98bdb7b You'll need to get another 2GB of RAM later on though for both builds though.
Both are shit builds, neither allows for overclocking (Not even the first one even though you say so) Please GTFO out of PC Building and come back when you understand how this works. You also failed to include a optical drive. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
Screw it, I can find a good enough build for your budget.
Wat.

Intel build AMD build: The intel build will perform better, but is more expensive. Also the AMD build uses a mATX motherboard, which can be hard to work with. For 50 pounds more you can get a 560GTX Ti which will also be better than a 6850. Especially at your low resolution.
Also the AMD build uses a mATX motherboard, which can be hard to work with.
How so?
How so?
Less PCI(e) connectors, connectors closer to eachother so harder cable management, no possibility for CF/SLI etc. They are cheaper though.
The 6870 is only £7 more http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-msi-hd-6870-hawk-4200mhz-gddr5-gpu-930mhz-1120-stream-processors-2x-dvi-hdmi-mdp
