So my Red Orchestra 2 randomly stopped working with punkbuster, causing me to get kicked every time i attempt to join a server. The same thing happens with Bad Company 2 which i just re-installed. So i downloaded the punkbuster setup directly from their website, unzipped it, and extracted it. When i run it it seems normal (Accept EULA, add games, punkbuster automatically updates them), yet when i try to play the games they still kick me. So i researched the problem, and thats where i started noticing some weird things:
1. Whenever i run games that use punkbuster i go to my task manager and go to processes from all users, yet i never see punkbuster actually running.
2. Punkbuster is not shown if i go to Add/Remove programs
3. When i go to my SysWOW64 folder, i can find PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB (applications), along with a PnkBstrB.xtr and a PnkBstrB.ex0 but i cant find any punkbuster .exe which should apparently be here. I found some pbsvc applications including one for BC2 and when i run them they say "Test completed without error".
I am completely stumped.
