Everyone knew in 2001, because it was all in the book that they released before the original X-Box Halo:CE came out. Of course, for Halo 4 they're trying to make it all a big deal and everything.

No, the majority of the FP halo community stayed away from the leak and spoilers. However this is information we already know, just from a different perspective and most importantly the emotion of how few survive becoming a spartan.
Oh god that Ancient Evil Awakens thing.
but will it reveal the secrets of of the magnetic attraction between his armor and the gun?
Halo 4 is really making me wish I still had my 360.
Can't wait for infinity.

No they're making it so people who don't read or pay attention can have a refresher course.
Whether you like Halo or not, the events that take place in the story are incredibly bad ass
I love the Halo series, especially the books. Too bad I don't own a 360 so I can't finish the story.
As cool as that was, I do think they showed a little bit too much of the chief's head in there. Having MC show his face is like having Gordon Freeman start an intellectual conversation with Gman. Or just talk, for that matter.

I think they use magnets.
Worst part of this trailer is how you can see Master Chief's face but other than that everything else is pretty cool.

It's not a big deal to be honest.

Its really not that big of a deal.
The whole not showing his face got really old.

Yeah but that's sort of the one thing you never do in a Halo game.

master chef is a pretty badass guy himself

The ending was REALLY obvious though, they pretty much told everyone from the trailer.
I loved halo ce, I really hate microsoft for making it only for xbawks great way to lose some profit.

Yeah I hear he cooks up a storm
I still wish Halo would just ended at 3. A best story is a story that has a memorable conclusion. Now they are really dragging the fight. There are never a good sequel after the number 3

Well there's going to be a Halo 9 so are you ready to start a new fight?
Fall of Reach was a great book detailing the Origins of the Spartans and y'all should read it, also the Halo:Reach LE notebook comes with some awesome stuff that fits in with it.
Why did they hide a wilhelm scream in there? It's just stupid :v: (in case you somehow didn't notice, it plays right when the view goes into master chief's eye)
I'm curious to play this new halo game. I don't wish to buy it since I'm not a big console gamer but sounds like something I might have to do.

Gordon Freeman speaking I wouldn't have a problem with, as long as it was short and not stupid. The reason he doesn't speak is so you immerse yourself in with the dialogue, if he spoke one line in an inappropriate time I think that'd be awesome

Except for the fact that the chief has been physically described and shown on multiple occasions through the extended media of the Halo universe. As a kid he had brown hair, blue eyes, freckles, and a gap between his teeth. As much as people's faces can change over time eye colour and hair colour rarely changes, so we at least no two defining characteristics about his face. On top of that we know that (presently) his skin is ghostly white due to having spent essentially the better part of his life in his MJOLNIR armour.
We have little snippets of how the chief looks, whereas we don't have ANY idea about how Gordon Freeman sounds.

If I remember correctly I read that in one of the books then watched an interview with one of the writers and it matched his looks so it was basically a self insert.

except we've known what john looks like for ages
