Looking for a laptop for school work on £250 budget

I am looking for two laptops for my younger sisters as they need them for school work, I have a budget of £250 per laptop.
I was looking at the chrome book, is it a decent option for school work/facebook?
I'd look at the Dell Inspiron 15(s), they're £25 over budget, but decent laptops and last forever.
I don't like the look of chrome laptops, I know it's meant to be all cloud storage, but There's barely any physical hardware, let alone a HDD.
Places I'd try:
-Amazon
-Tesco
-Asda (Might still have the Medion one for £260, don't quote me)
-eBay (If you're not fussy, but unless you're desperate I wouldn't)
I've never owned or used a Chromebook yet, but I've heard lots of good things about them, however - my personal opinion on them is that the hardware they have such as the processor and memory are rubbish to say the least -- they are way under powered and aren't very good for high demanding programs or operations. I'd go for Acer laptops, I've never liked Dell and Toshiba's laptops like to overheat.
I have found these two:

Which one would be better?
For the love of god don't buy an acer laptop, they've got terrible RMA rates(they constantly break)
since its just for schoolwork go for the toshiba actually no dont those specs are pretty bad for that money...
id suggest the acer actually
