• Using multiple brands of RAM

I currently have 6GB of RAM (3x 2GB) but as my mobo is dual channel having three sticks makes them run in single channel mode. I want to buy another stick so they all run in dual channel and I get the best possible speed but I need to know if it is bad to use different brands. I have 2x 2GB Crucial, and 1x 2GB of Kingston. I want to buy a stick of Corsair RAM (because it's actually cheaper than the Kingson.. go figure). Is it a bad idea to be using 3 different brands? They are all the same exact spec, so is that okay or not?
If they have the exact same speeds and timing they will be fine.
They should have the same voltage as well. If one is lower than the other, your system might get unstable.
It's generally not recommended because of how picky RAM can be. Different timings, voltages, clock speeds, etc can and often will affect the stability of your system. If they've got the same specs, go for it. But don't complain if your computer crashes every now and then.
I'm pretty sure they all have the exact same specs, but maybe some of you can help me by double checking. I already have 1 of these and this kit. The last stick I want to buy is this one. Thanks.
Looks like the Crucial memory can run at 1600MHz. It won't. Your system will underclock it to 1333MHz, and that'll be fine. They should run okay together.
