How can anyone even try justify on-disc pay-for content, its scandalous really.
Speaking of which, would it be legal to unlock the content through a crack or somesuch if they did do this? I mean, you paid for the disc and its data so technically you own it, surely it would be legal to unlock what you already physically own?
HA HA HA HA (HA)
To unlock the fifth HA contained within this post you must wait and pester me to edit out the brackets.
There is no difference between that and me posting another HA later on.
The distinction is in the name though...Downloadable Content.
If it's on disc, then you aint downloading it later.

The reason the distinction is made though is not because of the name
Games buyers are increasingly feeling ripped off at the high prices of games, and the shortness of campaigns, and general effort put into the game/lack of content
Charging for content that should have been put into the game pisses us off because there is already a distinct lack of content, not because they're calling it the wrong thing

On-Disk DLC is illegal in Europe apparently, but some things bypass it or something.

I know, but I was pointing out that the idea behind it being Downloadable Content, is that it's developed after the game, and given to you later by download. If it's developed before the game is even finished, then there's no point in it being DLC.
And yeah, I kinda phrased that badly admittedly.
That's just dirty.
There's DLC, there is Day One DLC, and than there is On Disk DLC.
If it's on the disk, I should have access to it.
If it's gonna be on the disc or in the game files at launch, you might as well make it available at launch.
If it's already on the disc = not costing them extra development time, or any other cost so why should we have to pay? if it's already on the disc that means it was made for the game and potentially available to play from day one therefore the decision to hold back the content was based on profit making and greed not on customer satisfaction, i don't mind a company wanting to make some extra money from a franchise but at least do it in meaningful ways which respect the franchise and it's consumers, other than blatantly ripping off your supportive fanbase. how is this so hard for retarded companies to understand?
With all the shit going on lately that Capcom's been doing, I think they WANT people to hate them.
And then they moan about the rates of piracy.
Strictly speaking there's not really much difference between on-disc DLC and regular DLC that's added via the net. We still end up having to pay for it :/
Whether or not it's right to purposefully withhold content that's already on the disc is another matter altogether.

Beautiful way to put it on Sapcom.
Also, this isn't a Down Loadable Content
It's more like Disc Locked Content for them.

DLC can be made after the game is done, not taking time from development, even some day 1 DLCs are done after the games production finishes, and but on disc 'DLC' proves they withheld content just to milk money.

lol
Imagine if you went to a sandwich shop and ordered a pastrami reuben with all the fixings. Then when you try to eat it, the server goes 'Whoa whoa whoa hold it, you can't eat the sauerkraut or the sauce, they're premium toppings and they cost $1.00 extra each'. That's bullshit, right?
This is exactly what Capcom is doing. And it will only get worse.

Oh I am pretty sure they do understand, they just don't care. If they can get away with it then why shouldn't they do this? Morals and human decency have no place in business.
It's kinda sad, really.
I say 'fuck you Capcom'
On disk DLC is bad because it essentially make you pay (in this case) $80 for a game you originally though costed $60.
The fact that the content is ALREADY on the disk shows that; developers have already made this content, BEFORE release.
They have also recieved payment for their work on that.
On-disk DLC is just a really clever fucking shit way of making you pay more than you should.
Bu..but we're putting it on the disc to HELP you! When you go to give us your money, you wont have to do a large download! Yeah let that be the excu- I mean explanation.
For people with no idea, Im kidding.

Not really. You do not own the license to the dlc content even if it's on disc. It's less common in gaming world, but in software world it's done quite often.
You. Retards.
There's no distinction between the DLC being on the disc, ready to be unlocked months later, monetarily, than if it wasn't on the disc. This is true, however:
The point is you have this content you made for the game and was even included with the game at the time of release that you're offering for an added 'fee', which is absolutely ridiculous
Now, everyone repeat after me. Talon's definition of "Fee" is Money for Nothing
Can anyone add this business practice to any other item you'd pay money for, and it wouldn't be abso-fucking-lutely stupid?
Capcom is been doing this kind of crap for a while now.
Not just DLC, but even new games that could have been just updated, instead of making a completely new game.
Dead rising 2 (dead rising 2 off the record), Lost planet (lost planet EXTREME condition), MVC3 (UMVC3), SF4 (SF4:arcade edition), and so on, each of these games, just end up making a "Ultimate version" of it, full price, Same as the original, just added a new character or small content.
Keep shitting up capcom. It's no wonder why capcom get such low sales, and more pirating (360,ps3, and pc)
Capcom has become a really bad developer lately.
Capcom has become a really bad developer lately.
Capcom has had a thing about wringing customers for money almost since the beginning; it's just that with the introduction of DLC they can now skip over the bother of making "deluxe" physical copies of games entirely and build that shit directly into the original.
Hell, they don't even have to put on pants before releasing the next "edition" anymore.

I'm still sad that they haven't announced ANYTHING about Megaman whatsoever. Sure they put him as DLC character or a cameo but not once have I seen a new Megaman game since Megaman 10.
(Note I'm aware that MML3 and MMU was canceled)

Day one/On Disk can be debatable, like Battlefield 3's shortcut kits.

Thats like renting a car and taking parts from it, you're paying for the ability(in this case for the on-disc DLC, license) to use it.
Not surprising coming from the people that release a game, then release the exact same thing with a few new characters a few months later. I fucking hate them for MvC3.

They pretty much gave up on Megaman.
