Yeah, like Battleborn DLC.
Well you say that, but I have a feeling that Borderlands 3 is probably going to generate more sales than Battleborn. Just call it a hunch, a gut feeling, but I still think that Borderlands can still sell gangbusters even in this day and age.
Whether or not it'll avoid microtransactions and season passes, however, is still up in the- No. Of course they're going to do that to Borderlands 3. Because this is the worst timeline, where Shadow of War is riddled with controversy, North Korea will never be reunited with the South, Trump will rule forever, and we will never be able to save Goatbro. Why should we expect any better?
SHHH don't give them ideas!
Eh, fuck it. It's too late, they've probably thought about that already.
There really needs to be some more serious activism against these practices, make publishers actively afraid to indulge in them, and scare off the shareholders that endorse them. Because fuck knows that actual boycotts and harsh words don't cut the mustard, since for every person who is disgusted by these practices and doesn't give the publishers a single penny, there are a hundred more uneducated uncaring fuckwits who think they have more important things to do than be responsible consumers. We can't rely on them to cast their ballot by voting with their wallets, so we need another way to fight back.
Even though I feel like the Looper Shooter genre has lost a good portion of its momentum (see Shadow Warrior 2), a third title would probably still sell really well. The fanbase is still there despite Gearbox being dickheads.

Lootboxes and other crap like that is totally up that slimeball's alley. There's no way he would have any shred of integrity; the man makes a living off cheating.
Randy is the used car salesman of video games.
I mean they already had pseudo-lootboxes in the previous two games, just not purchasable with real money. not to mention all the dlc packs for bl2.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think Borderlands is possibly the shittiest game series of the last decade. I didn't even like the first one, and by this point I don't think anyone with half a brain wants a new one
Randy Pitchford, and by extension Gearbox, is awful and scummy, but I really do like Borderlands. I'm always up for more. I'd just be more hesitant to throw money at it than I was with Borderlands 2 because of all the crap that's happened since.

You're entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion it's a really fun game to co-op with some friends
So long as Randy is working with them I can only see it failing after something like Battleborn failing
If you guys didn't know, Randy Pitchford thinks the games' unique art style is holding back the series. Even though it's probably one of the most iconic parts about it
I really hope they don't make 3 into a boring gritty shooter

If the phrase "you can't please everyone" could be explained in 1 post it's this one

Funny, cuz that GDC video he's talking about was posted by IGN

Borderlands is the only thing Gearbox can make right now where they won't absolutely destroy it simply by touch.
On the bright side, at least Anthony Burch isn't writing it.
I've put over 700 hours into the series for a reason. It's a game that has a long lifetime since there's so many different was to experience a playthrough, between what Vault Hunter you choose, which difficulty you're on, and which weapons you find. Plus, since there's THREE GAMES that are meant for hyping up BL3, they HAVE to come out with it sooner or later.
I thought we got Borderlands 3, it was just called Fallout 4.
I thought we got Borderlands 3, it was just called Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 would be twice as good if it was class-based and had co-op.

Class based?
have you played a single fallout game ever?
[editline]4th September 2017[/editline]
Then again, a Fallout style game but with idk lets say 8 classes and coop WOULD be twice as good,
I wonder what game's budget they gutted for this

They did just become We Happy Few's publisher :tinfoil:

i dont think taking money away from we happy few would change its already low quality at all

But which dialogue is worse?

As long as the one who was responsible for creating Pickle is dead, we should be okay.

Thankfully Anthony Burch has left GB so there may be some hope for the writing yet.
If BL3 bombs Gearbox is pretty much finished right?
I hope BL3 gets super amazing but if it doesn't I honestly couldn't care less, Bulletstorm and Borderlands are the only titles I like and their obvious pandering is annoying as fuck.

What was so annoying about Pickle, I played the game in German(ech) but he was just as annoying as Lilith or the atrocious Janey Springs character from TPS.
it would be great if they brought in some of the writers who did tales from the borderlands.
