Looking to upgrade/build, need help and suggestions.

So recently got adobe premier and after effects video editing software and I was getting annoyed at the extremely slow render times. I've been thinking about upgrading for awhile now and really want to upgrade before I head off to college so I've been looking at some parts. I've already got a power supply and want to keep my current hardrive and maybe my case too but after looking around I think my case is going to be too small for the parts I want to get.
My current system:
Msi Microstar Ms 7529 motherboard
Intel core 2 quad Q8200 2.33 Ghz
4GB memory
9500gt video card
500GB HDD
CORSAIR TX 750w psu
appox 16 1/2" x 7" x 16 1/2" case (Couldn't tell you the case model, it's a prebuilt by cyberpower)
What I want to get:
Intel i5 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072)
at least 8GB ram (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314)
decent video card
SSD drive?
Motherboard that can support above specs.
Cheap case that will be able to fit these things if my current case will be too cramped.
I want to try to stay under $600-700 hopefully
Can you find me some good parts?
Tell us your case model at least, and people are going to want to know what brand your PSU is. I suggest you get a 5850/6850/560/460 for the GPU and you don't really need a SSD - just get a new Spinpoint F3.

A new GPU alone would probably speed up your rendering times plenty, everything else in your current build isn't bad.
Budget?
if you want to fit a midrange+ GPU in that thing you would need a new case
You could probably get more value from an AMD solution. I'll do some comparing and return with the best solution.

Yes you can get the 6 core AMD processor cheaper then the quad i5.

The AM3 motherboards are alot cheaper then the 1155s are so you can get a better processor with the cash saved on the motherboard.

Here's an MSI 5750 a decent card IMO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127494
I don't think an upgrade from the core 2 quad to the i5 would do much.

well if you want to reuse your RAM you would need to get a board that support DDR2, and instead of a 5750, you can get a 5770 for $120
the thuban is cheaper than the 2500k, but I'm pretty sure even in rendering, the 2500k is faster, but the thuban might appeal to you if you're short on money
also the 2500k is much stronger than any C2Q, and it also has massive overclocking potential
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought only nvidia cards are supported for hardware rendering acceleration on these types of programs.

I like this.
the core 2 quad is fine, you should probably look into a case and overclocking
after some overclocking grab a 570 or a used 480 and max out any game that challenges you
