So, I just got a new pc, and I noticed that when I play Stalker : clear sky the fan of my computer starts going pretty loud. On top of that, the case of my computer gets hot. My specs: Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4096MB RAM Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Pretty much copied the important stuff from dxdiag, if you need more info, just ask.
Download HWMonitor and play the game in till you here the fan then post the max temps. (Take a pic)
It might be possible that you do not have enough airflow in your computer case. I recommend you get some fans and an aftermarket cooler for the card. But as Thor stated, get a program to monitor your temps and let us know what they are.

Did you run HWMonitor while running the game? Even if you didn't, I doubt you'll have a problem. My CPU usually runs at a 70 while gaming.
That is hot. Normally you want to stay UNDER 60C. Get an aftermarket cooler and it will drop it by 20C guaranteed.

Yeah, took the picture while gaming, I'm not that stupid. Well anyways, thanks for your help people, getting a little bit of a contradiction here but since Psygo's cpu is normally hotter and his computer didn't blow up I think I'm safe. I can always count on Facepunch

Alrighty then! I spent about a 1000€ on this thing, that's why I'm careful.

Those are good temps, graphics cards are made to run hotter than that so to have temps like that is pretty impressive. You only really need to watch the temps if you are planning to keep that hardware for a very long time.
Alrighty then! I spent about a 1000€ on this thing, that's why I'm careful.
for that much you could get an i5 and 5850, you got ripped off
That is hot. Normally you want to stay UNDER 60C. Get an aftermarket cooler and it will drop it by 20C guaranteed.
Under 60 for the CPU, yeah, but it's not uncommon for modern graphics cards to hit the high 70s.
for that much you could get an i5 and 5850, you got ripped off
My 22 inch screen, keyboard and stuff is included in that price, and I did some searches and the 5850 seems to be on the same level as the gts 250, and the i5 is a bit more powerful than the Phenom II
That is hot. Normally you want to stay UNDER 60C. Get an aftermarket cooler and it will drop it by 20C guaranteed.
That will only happen if your room temperature is close to 15 degrees or lower. And under 60 is really not needed.
I did some searches and the 5850 seems to be on the same level as the gts 250
You fail at searching.
