• GFX Card help?

Still need to finish off the last part of my build which is my graphics card. Basically I'm looking for one of the new generation AMD video cards that has equal performance to an HD 5850 or 5870. I might do nVidia too but my motherboard is built mostly for Crossfire and I run an AMD setup and I hear horror stories of nVidia cards and AMD.
6870, 6950 or 6970.
post full specs and budget
6950 and flash the bios to a 6970

Can you post your budget for your GPU?
Your board does not support SLI at all. Can you post your budget for your GPU?
$250. I know it doesn't support SLI that's why I said I'd prefer AMD. I'm sure I could use an nVidia card but I know I can't use two.

Corsair HX750.
Corsair HX750.
You should be fine for Crossfire in the future. How about this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125385
I need a new monitor. One of the two I use now is VGA, and that's my main one, and there's only two DVI ports on that GPU. So could someone link me to a good one?

He shouldn't be using VGA with that card. That's a sin.
He shouldn't be using VGA with that card. That's a sin.
I never said he should.
He asked for new monitor, you suggested that it was unnecssary. [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] If you're cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009306 If you're less cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001463&cm_sp=Cat_Monitors-_-Best_Sellers-_-24-001-463 Actually a nice monitor (the second one, I don't have experience with the Acer one).

I've been hearing up to 8ms, but 2ms seems to be the general consensus.
Oh boy. I need like SUPER CHEAP as I can't go any higher than $100. Should I just get an adapter then?
The graphics card comes with the adapter, it's your choice whether or not to get a monitor.
What would be the absolute highest response time for a gaming monitor? Now I have a 8ms monitor and do you know what is the difference? IT IS FUCKING NOTHING!
The graphics card comes with the adapter, it's your choice whether or not to get a monitor.
Oh okay, I think I'll just stick with that then.
So this "ghosting effect" is just fiction?
Nope, but it's mostly old screens that does that. [editline]15th July 2011[/editline] Also, the first one is only 20$ over hundred, surely you can find that somewhere. Else, just buy a monitor later on.
Would there be any problems if I use nVidia with the build I have now? Just wondering because I may not be able to get that GIGABYTE graphics card.
Nvidia has CUDA, PhysX and better OpenGL support but is a bit more expensive. There won't be any problem.
Yeah but I mean will there be any problems like conflicting with my motherboard or CPU?
Yeah but I mean will there be any problems like conflicting with my motherboard or CPU?
No. There might be a change your motherboard wont support SLI though (2 nvidia cards working together, ATI calls this Crossfire)
Alright that's all I was worried about. Should I get a 560? [editline]19th July 2011[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121446 Agree or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127593 Disagree
Get a 560 Ti
Like I said, not enough money. [editline]19th July 2011[/editline] and I'm not buying from Palit after all the shit I hear from them. [editline]19th July 2011[/editline] Though they may have changed but there's only one good review on their 560 Ti.
