I've been debating with my peers about this incident that occurred in my community, which is massive amounts of death threats and psychopathic remarks.
Here is one of the highlights:

This occurred because one of our younger staff members was jokingly stating that he was going to "annoy him" forever.
The user who said these things has been banned, but I don't think it's enough.
Should I delete all evidence and forget about it or seriously report it to authorities?
Report it to the authorities cover your ass. If something does happen even if you thought they were joking best to let someone know and check it out.

Is there like a designated place to report cyber incidents?
Report it to the authorities
If in doubt, the answer of "should I call the cops" is yes: it never, ever hurts.

Just report it to the police. They should know what to do.
Threats of violence should be taken seriously. We've recently seen what happened in California when incidents like this are glossed over.

I would not make such a terrifically broad statement as that, though it may be best in this case.
Report it immediately
likely a troll, but ask yourself, do you want to take the chance?
Additionally, gather every bit of proof you can get into backup and save it, no bluring
you use chrome, use this https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/full-page-screen-capture/fdpohaocaechififmbbbbbknoalclacl to screen shot everything and
drop box

or
google drive

this way you can access evidence out of home if its very serious
this may all seem paranoid and it sorta is but it'll ensure you keep evidence and are safe. That, and evidence is safe even if your hard drive breaks.
Probably just some idiot kid though, don't worry too much but stay safe please!
If anyone ever tried to break into my house, their skull would be blossomed open from a large slug before they could even attempt to aim their handgun.
Seriously people, half of these murder incidents could have been stopped if more of this responsible population would learn how to use guns properly. Every house should have a shotgun for safety.
I agree with the fact that residents should be able to defend themselves, but a shotgun is overdone. In the unlikely event that someone breaks into your home, every second counts. So the resident of the house will probably want to keep said gun stored for easy access, without too much locks on it.
If someone hears somebody breaking into their home, the person will get very nervous and has a higher chance of failing to open up a safe for example. Best thing is to keep a bat or something to knock them out.
I think government should be allowing residents to defend themselves. As far as I'm concerned, you are not even allowed to inflict injuries to a burglar out of self defense, and the average response time of police in my city is like 5-10 minutes. In that time span you could be already knocked out on the ground, half your house stripped from your belongings.
Never make pasta so this doesn't ever happen

Unless they sneak up on you, shoot you in the face from outside or set fire to your house. Which is definitely one of the things a psychopath determined to kill you could do.
Just for the record, owning a shotgun wouldn't help in any of those cases. Besides, if anyone from the internet wants to kill you, now they know you have a shotgun, so your element of surprise against the would-be psycho following your tracks went out the window.

Also, shotguns are terrible for home defense. A pistol does the trick too and is only a fraction of it's size, thus easier and faster to aim indoors.

"Blossomed" open? Sounds like a really subtle attempt at romanticising it. This is a disturbing post.
Don't report it to the authorities. Just get prepared for that day. Putting your faith in the police is as good as death these days. You're better off just knowing their vision through their threat, and preparing yourself as such. Don't be paranoid, just be optimistic and prepared.

Why not both?
Why not both?
Because by putting our faith in the authorities, we're subconsciously giving away our rights.
See this if you want to better understand what I mean.

HE WAS A HERO
NO WAR CRIMES SWEAR
You're all too set in your ways. Rate me dumb all you like, you'll see some day! :v:
The thing is with the cops, they're just the enforcers of the government, which is the essentially largest gang within your country. If you go telling the cops about every problem you have, you're just dishing out those problems onto somebody since you're not confident enough to deal with it yourself. And that attitude snowballs into something much worse, something that many will unfortunately learn about in the near future. The cops can be your enforcers for now, but don't be surprised when those enforcers have to enforce something that you don't like, because if you ask for their help, you're supporting them.
Thanks for all the replies. The only issue I'm fighting against right now is the fact the bringing this data to the police would have them crawling all over my community to find past issues, passwords, and IPs which I'm not comfortable giving away. Reporting this to our site's host would really do nothing other than ban his ip from their sites. Reporting this to steam would do absolutely nothing because steam doesn't care about what happens in communities or on forums. What should I do in this situation?

Like I was saying, just prepare, it's the smartest thing to do in this situation..

I'm having trouble believing that Canada's on its way to becoming the tyrannical police state you describe
also i thought the police were enforcers of common law, not the government
Even if it is just a joker, it's always fun to scare the shit out of them with some cops.

So much dumb on your posts it's giving me cancer.

SWAT? No thanks lol not that far in Trolling 101. Most I'd go in "fun" is post his IP on 4chan and act like a damsel in distress.
