• Cant run Portal

Well recently i just bought the orange box, and downloaded Portal off it. After it was downloaded, i tried running it, but once it reaches the Loading screen, the screen goes black and on the top left corner theres the Portal thing flashing ( a small bit from the bar on top of a window ). Then the "hl2.exe has stopped working" pop up comes out. I've also downloaded TF2 and was able to play it, but i cant seem to get Portal working. I tried redwnloading it but it still dint work.
