So you own a pet and got an interesting story to share, then share! Tell us about how your dog did an amazing backflip and was later elected president, or how your goldfish jumped through a hoop and then subsequently single handedly beat a group of notorious gangster. Or tell us how your dog died by exploding to bits. I'm going to contribute by telling you two of many experiences that has caused me to dub my home the pet graveyard. I'll start off with "Little Gray One" the Bunny (dark, deep evil laughter)
So when I was a wee lad we had a german shepherd (a dog) called Ricco. We also had a bunny that we just called "Little Gray One". When the two were indoors, they were the best of buds and didn't harm each other in any way. They would chill with each other, even. Though, Little Gray One wouldn't hesitate to bite if Ricco got a bit rough when playing. So, one morning my mom woke up and put Ricco out on a leash to do his business. We also put the bunny outside in a small cage made out of chicken fence wire. When my mom came back to get Ricco he seemed way too excited than he usually is when he's going to be let in. (Bear in mind that this took place in a warm summer morning, and Ricco didn't object to being outside when it wasn't cold as a norwegian winter can be.) He seemed like he wanted to show my mom something, as he kept running towards the back lawn of our house. Mom went down with him only to see the cage where dear Little Gray One was usually found frolicking in torn apart. And in the middle of the mess of wire and planks lay the headless body of what once used to be a fucking happy and loving bunny. My mom freaked out, and had to go get dad to clean up before me and my sister woke up. We were told that the bunny had ran away into the forest. I was just recently told the truth, and that honestly explains a lot for me. For I kept finding skull fragments all around Ricco's sleeping spots.
Little My and the cestoda (distant screams)
So we've had lots of cats. I mean, loads. In fact, if we count kittens we've had around 31 cats living in the house. Most of them are dead now. We had this cat named Little My after the character from Moomin who was as smart as a wooden board. She would constantly crash into things, and would risk suffering from a few concussions due to her stupidity. She couldn't even wash herself, requiring the longest living pet in the household, Noldus, to clean her (he lives to this day). One day she walked to my mom, cleaning in the kitchen, only to barf out the biggest cestoda I've ever seen. It was fat as shit and and squirmed like an epileptic on a rave party. My mom freaked out (again) and called for my dad who was outside working on the car. When he got there she was in the living room walking in circles and repeatedly chanting "ohmygodohmygod". When my dad discovered the little bastard he let out the loudest holy fuck as he went for anything he could pick up the thing with. He grabbed a fork and tried to lift it up only for the alien creature to part itself into pieces and kept squirming. My dad noped out of the kitchen and brought back the vacuum cleaner. When the worm was gone my parents decided that, reflecting on past experiences and the fact that she barely could eat because she kept forgetting where we put the food, she wasn't fit for life and took her to the vet to get euthanized. We were told she too had ran away. Man, what else is there that I don't l know about my dead pets yet?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So there you have it, Facepunch. Do you have any stories to share? Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be like my examples, it can be a story about how your guinea pig kept you company during 9/11.
I forgot about my tamgotchi once, and it shat itself to death.
When she was a puppy, my Pomeranian once jumped off a bed because she heard a knock at the apartment next door and broke one of her legs. At the time the jump was too much for her little puppy legs. She spent the next couple of months with a bulky pink cast which we had dubbed her "beefy arm". Something that was kind of funny was how she would brandish the cast threateningly at our cats(though she really didn't mean anything by it).
He died once I reached the clinic and waited in front of the gate for doctor's arrival. I wish I was not that late.
I had a fish one: it died. I had more fish: They all died. I had a bird once: It died. I had a dog once: It hasn't died yet.
my garage door crushed my kitten's neck when I was like 7. we had no idea she ran under it while it was closing and didn't figure it out for awhile
I had two hamsters as a young child, they were in the same cage and both males. Big Mistake. One day, several months later, I find my second hamster dead with his organs oozing out of his stomach and his eyeball missing, while my other Hamster gave me the fucking guilty look.
I had a cat once, she was kind of dumb. She walked up to my fireplace and licked it, and then reeled back with her tongue still out, and she just walked around with her tongue sticking out for the rest of the day. :v:
I had a cat named Hamster. She was a legendary pet and smarter than all the animals I've ever owned. Lived 10 long years and did many amazing deeds. I'll start with her first amazing act when she was nothing but a little kitten. She had a brother and both of them liked playing in the driveway where my parents park the car. One day both of them were missing. I searched high and low around my house and the areas surrounding it. The basement, the driveway, the backyard. Nothing both of them were gone. I found their mother but alas both of them were not there. My family bred a lot of cats that would come and go over the years and sometimes during a bad year all our kittens would die either to natural predators, cruel fate or man-made accidents. I thought both of them lost. My mom took the car out and since there were no skidmarks of blood I ruled out death by car. Perhaps a local stray tomcat had killed them both and run off with their corpses as had happened in the past. So there was sad little me in the house until an hour later my Mom came back and what does she have in her hand? Hamster the kitten. She looked like a vet with PTSD, her nose and paws were pale and there were splotches of motor oil on her pretty Calico fur. My mom said when she dropped of my dad at the airport she noticed a small kitten that looked like Hamster from the side-mirror. She came out of the car to take a closer look at the kitten and then suddenly the kitten came running to her. It was Hamster! Turns out Hamster and her brother were playing under the car and managed to get inside all those pipes and hitched a ride for 30 KM from my house to the airport, over highways, heavy traffic and bridges. From that moment on we knew we had an amazing pet. But what about her brother? [sp] I opened the car hood not soon after that and found a lump of semi pulped, charred flesh with pieces of fur...Let your imagination decide what that could be [/sp]
I have a cat with no eyes, missing most of it's teeth, starved, was castrated and thrown into a pool to drown. Someone did that to him where we lived, so we adopted him.
the dog peed on my bed the cat shat on my bed [editline]21st October 2013[/editline] the dog ate the shit
When my dog was a puppy and he had a cage, and the cage was next to the table... so one day he was eating his bedding in the cage, so we took it out and put it on top of his cage, Someon body left a chair pulled out at the table, I found him sleeping in his bed on top of his cage! Cutest thing his done. he usually justs eats his own poop...
My cat pissed on me when it died. rip in piece
I found one of my pet cats on the street a few years ago. It turned out a woman had broken the window of a truck where he, and the rest of his cat-family were being suffocated by their previous owners, because they couldn't afford to take care of them anymore. They all ended up fine, my aunt is taking care of some of his relatives, and he's currently a happy and healthy cat.

Is it really that hard? [editline]21st October 2013[/editline] the fact they attempted suffocation makes it even worse, must be a horrible feeling for the animals
