The british should play a bigger part in the gaming world, BAFTA is already the top video games awards IMO.
With shitty openings like "who wants to watch a bunch of teenagers play video games?" In their videos and writing articles about Anita Sarkeesian without any prior research I can safely say no thanks.
Then maybe shit web sites like Rock Paper Shotgun would cease to exist. I like this idea.
Pretty interesting read. Too bad most people stop at the headline as usual.
Videogames are games like any other. Games have been here for millenia, longer than television, radio or even books. I think humanity has already found a good use for them. It's just that there are plenty of people who don't see videogames as games that people like to spend time on because they're fun, but rather see them as horrible subliminal messaging that decays people's brains or whatever. Can't really tell those, just wait till they die off I guess.

Surely that's a rhetorical question?

Probably has to do with the fact it's from RPS
their blog posts consist of usually irrelevant article titles, click bait, randomly assorted ideas and thoughts without a general conclusion or clear idea

BAFTA isn't a developer circle jerk. It's brilliant. Why doesn't can't any other awards ceremony remove the corporate nonsense?

People only clicking to read the headline and then maybe looking at a few picture or skipping directly to the flamewars in the comment section are the prime reason for why bothering with writing proper articles with research and everything just doesn't pay off for most mainstream media.
