• Using A VPS for a VPN Server
    1 replies, posted
I'm looking to set up a VPN on my laptop so I can access the unfiltered internet (steam) at work and college. I looked at various providers, and no just VPN provider seems to provide what I want for a reasonable price, so I came to the conculsion I could get a VPS and set up the VPN server myself. I've set up a VPN server on a computer at home before, but my upload bandwith is painful. Of course this was on windows, and the VPS will be linux (it's always cheaper). So, a) does anyone know any cheap VPS providers in England ( I don't want it in another country, I know some people use VPN+Steam for funny business, I don't want to do that.) b)What's the best way of setting up a VPN server on linux? I've googled it, but a lot of things seem to conflict.

Use the promotion code at checkout to receive the discount. EaseVPS say that TUN/TAP is enabled by default so it should be easy for you to set up your PPTP/OpenVPN/... without any support tickets. Not bad for £2.50 a month. As for setting it up, I've never had success with OpenVPN but I came close to getting PPTP to work.
