I'm still waiting for the sequel. Please. I just want to know what happens next.

I really don't get why there was never a sequel to this game.
I really don't get why there was never a sequel to this game.
There was one planned iirc but Lucas Arts never felt like actually starting work on it. [editline]27th September 2014[/editline] But in the age of the modern military shooter, I'm surprised they haven't jumped at the opportunity to make a star wars shooter (that isn't 1313).
I'm still waiting for the sequel. Please. I just want to know what happens next.
There was a sequel planned call Imperial Commandos, and from the concept art it was pretty gruesome

And considering that Delta was absorbed into the Imperial military...[/sp] There are so many possibilities
I'm still waiting for the sequel. Please. I just want to know what happens next.
I think they wrote a book. I never read it.
Christ, like half of this article is just whining that the prequals weren't complete rehashes of the original trilogy. It paints Republic Commando in this really tarnished-at-best light that's really disrespectful to an awesome game. I mean fuck, the fact that Battlefront is so popular a series kinda shows that people do, in fact, want to fight as and against a robot army with bug-aliens on the wings.

There's the Battlefront III EA is supposedly working on, but for a billion dollar franchise that's mega popular, there are surprisingly few games in the works.
Yeah Lucas arts seem to hate making good star wars games now days, they just make the really shitty ones
Actually the sequel was planned shortly before the first came out but only as far as concept art, so this was back when Lucas Arts was doing good games.

Definitely my favorite Star Wars games still hoping a sequel/similar game eventually comes out.

This game had it all. Great characters and dialogues that were dark but also hilarious. Amazing levels that were intense and good looking. Extremely well designed squad mechanics that were not that complex but very engaging, also despite being a squad of elite soldiers you never felt like being super strong. You were always outgunned and outmanned. This is truly a great star wars game and for one it doesn't include any jedi/sith story which is pretty nice change, at least for me.
This thread is a grim reminder that an amazing game never got the sequel it deserved.
What a brilliant game. I would've loved to have gotten a darker, grittier sequel set in the post-Order 66 Empire. Actually, the easy-to-use but intuitive squad mechanics of this game always seemed to me like they'd be a perfect pitch for an XCOM game or something.
I'm still waiting for the sequel. Please. I just want to know what happens next.
I think they became one of the empire's elite trooper squads or something.
