Ok, so I know this feature is built into Windows Vista and 7, but unfortunately I am running XP. I've been googling around for free software that will let me shrink my main partition by 5GB and allow me to format the 5GB as a separate FAT32 partition. The only things I can find are non-free software and completely irrelevant stuff.
I'll even accept a trial program, as long as it lets me do what I want. The last trial I used only let me look at my partitions, I had to buy the full to resize them...
You could use gparted to edit partitions.
