I'd agree with you that XIII-2 was pretty terrible.

XIII was a bit boring, but it wasn't [I]bad[/I].

Lightning Returns actually feels pretty fun. I played the demo multiple times (because it's so short) but it was enough to convince me to pre-order it. The new battle system is pretty fun, and while I know it's going to be very ~*~dramatic~*~, it looks pretty good.

I tried to love XIII but it just didn't do anything for me, the fact that they made 3 damn sequels on it just baffles me. I would have loved a sequel to VIII or something.

That and every game in the series has a self-contained story (with the exception of mini sequels or spinoffs to existing ones)
