Though it looks a lot like the models that have come before it, the Force has a unique claim: it alleges to offer the longest talk time of any cellphone in the world at 20 to 24 hours, which can be traded in for 20 to 24 hours of continuous GPS tracking, along with 800 hours of standby. Sonim hangs on to its ruggedness chops by casting the Force in a fiberglass shell with 1.5 millimeters of Gorilla Glass over the display, all adding up to an IP-68-rated device that can withstand a two-meter drop onto concrete, two meters of submersion in wastewater (yes, not water, but wastewater), and temperatures ranging from 20 below zero to 55 degrees Celsius (-4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit). Pricing and availability are yet to be announced; follow the break for the full press release. That is indeed pretty impressive. I doubt it will be very popular among mainstream users though, as all tech hipsters these days are seeking thin and sleek touchscreen smartphones filled with hundreds of features that they don't use.

I bet he feels like a bit of a dick.............
I guess he got a new free phone.
I'll get this if it has the OS and games and cool features of this: I still have one of these phones and it remains the best phone I have used to this day. Snake II and Space Impact all day every day. It is probably as indestructible as this thing. If I could get this phone to work on a modern network I could. If this Force is as nice to use as that phone I will buy it the second that my current phone's contract expires. Rate hearts for nostalgia.

What do you mean on a modern network?
I go to a cell phone store and they go :downs: 'no can do lul'
are you on one of those silly american networks without sim cards
Nah I've tried AT&T so far but I'm pretty sure the guy I talked to was :downs: [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] But enough about this, lets talk about this awesome superphone eh?
are you on one of those silly american networks without sim cards
Could be that it doesn't like the 3G Sims that everything is using these days [editline]15th February 2011[/editline]
Space Impact
God damn I love you
This thing has been dropped over and over, submerged in sea water and left outside in the winter and it still works perfectly. If I ever go back to a dumb phone, I will be having another one of these.

A phone that was easy to use and cheap, even when it was launched. And it's also solid as a brick. Don't bother fucking up a 3310, because you simply can't.

My current phone is an LG Wine and that's only because I didn't want something with 500 million different moving parts.

I've dropped it into a pool, it has fallen out of the car on the road, and it still shows no signs of dying. The only newest thing though is if it does fall it will reset, which makes windows mobile a little pissy some times.
