Alright, let's just say is it possible to connect a stereo lead (from like a car stereo for example), to a RCA connector, and connect it to a stereo.

The stereo lead (red and black, + and - connector) and the RCA type connectors are pictured above if you do not know.

Would this possibly even remotely work?
I'm worried that the car stereo might be too powerful and overload the RCA in and fry it. Reason being is that I acquired an old Gateway 2000 branded Boston Acoustics 2.1 system for free, and I was wondering if I could possibly put the sub in my car. The sub has a built-in amp and I have a power inverter, so that won't be a problem.
If not, no big deal. The subwoofer is powerful enough to rattle the windows in my room so I still have a use for it.
Yeah, It would work in theory.
Also I lol'd at "superwoofer"

15 year old AIWA stereo lol. I guess having a "super woofer" was a luxury back then.

Maybe sometime I'll try plugging the car stereo into an old TV with RCA in. If is blows something up, I know its a bad idea.
Why would you plug it into in? Wouldn't you want to do out?
No, the stereo feeds into the subwoofer through its standard stereo inputs. The subwoofer amplifier filters the normal signal and only plays back the low frequencies.
