• Using Bluetooth for a PS4 controller

So I bought a PS4 controller recently and got a USB cable and this Bluetooth Dongle. I have the official 360 controller drivers installed and I'm using DS4tool, and through USB it works perfectly. Trying to use Bluetooth, however, turned out to be a massive pain in the ass. Here's a rundown of everything I did. I'm on Windows 7, using the latest version of DS4Tool (1.2.2). Before installing the drivers provided with the adapter(because my computer wouldnt read the disc, it's called CSR Harmony), I could get my controller paired through windows' bluetooth tools and working through DS4tool but nothing else would take inputs from it; games would see it but it wouldn't do anything (acknowledging that there is a gamepad to be used but no inputs happening). The very first time I paired it, stuff like XInput tester and x360ce would recieve the inputs and show them correctly, but games wouldn't see it. After trying to re-pair it, nothing would see the inputs at all, but it was still in DS4tool and the lightbar color could be changed and the touchpad could still control my mouse when enabled. There was no delay in any of this, mind you, so I'm inclined to believe it wasn't a connectivity issue. After I managed to get the official drivers installed, I couldn't pair it at all. I would hold the Share button + the PS button, the lightbar would flash, my Bluetooth would see it, and I'd click on it to pair, but then it would just sit there saying 'Please wait... starting pair...' or something similar until the lightbar just turned off. I even tried holding the tiny button on the back that i assume is a reset button (there was a guide on the playstation site that pointed it out) in case it was trying to pair with the wrong thing or something. The only way I managed to pair it was by instead of clicking Next to pair, I right clicked, went to properties, and clicked on the services tab. That brought up a notification that it was trying to pair, so I clicked it. It'd also bring up a second notification that it wanted to pair, but if I clicked THAT one then it would be paired but apparently 'not connected' and the lightbar would turn off. If I clicked the first notification, then went back to the pairing screen (where it finds devices) the name of the controller would be "0%" instead of "Wireless controller", and if I paired it then I'd end up with the same results as before; lightbar shuts off and pairing fails. So by just clicking the first notification, I have it paired and working in games (just the one that I tried, Risk of Rain, which I set up beforehand to specifically work with this controller naturally). But now, DS4Tool cant use it. I get an error saying "System.IndextOutOfRangeExeception: Index was outside the bounds of the array..." then some more technical stuff. I was thinking maybe it's the drivers? I read somewhere that DS4tool has issues with Bluetooth software other than windows'. In that case, I could simply uninstalled the CSR Harmony drivers and use Windows'. But then, I need to get games to see that I'm doing stuff with it. I'm really at a loss as to what to do here, and I've never really used Bluetooth in my life, so help would be much appreciated. Edit: Well, I'm starting to think it's just the Adapter I bought that's the problem. Someone is posting on the PCSX2 forum about the same issues with the same adapter. Sigh. I'm going to try and return it and just get a different one, but if anyone knows how to fix this one that'd make things a lot easier on my end. I'll mark this thread as solved as soon as I return the thing.
