www.acne.org is the best resource for help
Speaking personally, you sort of have two options:
* Grab the bezoyl peroxide off acne.org (its scent free and clear to apply), works pretty well, its 'over the counter' and safe
* OR; speak to a dermatologist and see if you can be put on roaccutane. It's a pretty harsh drug, and you will have side effects (dry skin, mood swings, chapped lips, depression, ...) but after 3-12 months you should hopefully be close to 100% clear. You may need further doses 6/12/18/24 months later zero or more times.
Thanks guys, but I remember seeing a thread or a post about using alcohol and something else. Anyone got an idea?
Kirad; let me re-iterate checking out that acne.org website, its got a fantastic amount of information.
EDIT: Not sure about alcohol; but if you were to put it on your face (???) it may be acting as a germ killer, thats what Benzoyl peroxide does.
I'm checking it out right now actually.
Kill yourself
Get a knife
And proceed to cut your face off
Hey-presto you got no more acne
Cheese grater
don't touch it, get neutrogena, lower your fat intake
Sandpaper your face.
I take roaccutane, and it works amazingly, but it's a difficult process to get a prescription.
I got prescribed roaccutane last week. I've noticed a huge difference already, although it's not supposed to do much for the first week.
I was on Benzonyl Peroxide before that, and that didn't really work that well.
I can't find the thread about the person who sandpapered his face... was it deleted?

Trust him, he's a doctor.. as his avatar points out.
I don't understand why anyone would use such a dangerous drug to cure something as minor as acne.

Which is why you need to see a dermatologist, and you've normally got to go through other treatment first, at least in the UK.
Roaccutane isn't chucked around at every case.
Common side effect: Extreme severe acne flare
ironically
Belt sander

Wash your face every once and a while. Also I read somewhere about sleeping with a fresh towel on your pillow every night.
Go to your doctor, he/she will give you what you need. I had moderate acne, after a month of prescription it's pretty much gone
