Hey facepunch.
I have been having a really annoyinh problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have two drives. One is a 250gb, and the other is a 1tb. My 1tb drive locks up whenever I try to start up FUEL or GTA4, and occasionally while playing other games. Now the same 2 games have no problem starting on my 250gb drive, but this drive also occasionally freezes in other games.
My 1tb drive has windows vista 64-bit and my 250 has 32-bit. I do not think this is a problem with my drives, but instead is another component all together. The only 2 games that freeze also use windows live all the other games are fine. Any help would be appreciated and if you need any other info then just ask.
My specs:
Zotac 9800 GTX 512Mb Amp'd Edition
DFI Lanparty DK X48 Mobo
OCZ NVIDIA SLI-Ready Edition 4GB
COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro 650W
Quad Core 2.4Ghz Q6600 (I think)
Western Digital Caviar 1Tb 7200Rpm
Western Digital 250gb 7200Rpm
Thats all, thanks in advanced.

Run that, play a game for a bit, then post a screenshot of the window.
I have this exact problem, so I doubt its temps for him.
I am gonna play Call of Duty 4. Will post results in a few minutes of playing. I dont think it is temperature related since it happens the minute I click the .exe, but I will give it a shot.

Well I would love to post my screen shots, but unfortunately my computer locks up when I press the prn scr key. I am getting sick of this.
My friend actually had similar problems. Did you mount the motherboard with the risers and everything? My buddy just mounted his mobo properly and it started working how it was supposed to.
Drivers?
Oh shit. No my mother board is only mounted with 2 screws. So improperly mounted. I will try to mount it correctly and see if that helps. Thanks a lot.

Before I moved my mobo into the new case, I noticed it was missing a screw in the old case, but the standoff was still there. I haven't tried running a game that freezes me since I have moved to the new case.

I have never heard of a computer freezing because of improper mounting, but maybe it puts stress on key areas of the mother board. I will dig up some extra screws and get it mounted correctly.
I dont think its teh mounting, i helped mogul build it. I think its SATA/RAID controller drivers not installed right.
Check RAM

Shit, my computer has a raided hard drive. I have no idea what it's in raid with, since I only have one HDD. But do if I reinstall the raid drivers, will I have to reinstall my data?

Try saying that after you see the raid controller options.
