the acting is even worse than it was in the e3 one
I can't help shake the feeling that this game will be disappointing.
From the gameplay demo I just get the idea that you will end up feeling kind of minor in comparison to everything. Like you've got this huge open world to fuck around in but the way you move and the power you have over your enemies and environment doesn't seem that great.
I just get the same feeling watching that vid that I do when I play Borderlands. I expect some really interesting well developed world with tons of little details and stories dotted about but the gameplay just didn't seem to represent even half of that. It also seems like they're really trying to throw the concept art out at everyone hoping that will be enough to entice the audience.

Why not make yourself a huge part of the world? Help people out, get high listings on the leaderboards and stuff you know?

You're still going to be another guardian same as everyone else trundling along at the same speed. The sense of scale is warped and getting to the top of the leader board would equate to spending unreasonable hours on the game.
IMO getting to the top of any leaderboard usually just means you used the cheapest methods possible and nobody would truly care about you.
When I look at this world and I look at the guardians I just think they ought to actually have that super human element to them. There's all these crazy enemies moving about at different sizes and you're just yet another military servant potentially with magic powers of fancy weapons. I don't see anything beyond that and I think that's the problem. The world looks big but it doesn't feel big.
Everything looks a lot like Halo in this game. Also, that ghost thing that he had has pretty much the same model as the camouflage powerup in Halo. You can even see the little pointy black things that they both have on the outside.

One of the best feelings I've had in gaming was get top 3,000 on two different tracks in Trials Evolution. I didn't use any cheap methods, and my friends that also play do whatever they can to beat my times. Leaderboards are fun.
It's really embarrassing listening to the devs play this game. E3 acting is usually horrible but I feel like this is a new level.
Why does the UI look like Windows 8?

Leaderboards where the absolute focus of the game is score such as Trials makes sense. A game like Destiny where the focus is elsewhere doesn't really mean shit in the end.
A leaderboard system in this would serve as a distraction nothing more.
If you cut part of that gun the player uses from the top of the barrel it would pretty much look the same as the Aliens pulse rifle

I think he is talking about the Halo 3/Reach camo powerup model.

I reeeeally hope they put in an option to move the crosshair into the middle of the screen, it's annoyed the hell out of me since Halo 2.
