Shut up and take my money.
Didn't they call the 680 a 480 lots of times or is it just me?
Didn't they call the 680 a 480 lots of times or is it just me?
Andrew Yoon seems to have a fetish for a GTX 480.
shiiiit isn't the gtx680 the new mid-range card? i wanna know what the gtx790 can do.
500$ and it can run something like that tech demo? Oh boy all my money
The Samaritan demo, which previously required three GTX 580 cards, would draw a total of 732 watts to run. A power supply of that nature just isn't practical for PC gaming purposes. The GTX 680, in contrast, draws at most 195 watts of power, making it an upgrade your computer won't explode from using.
Goddamn, thats amazing
And yet the games will not actually look like that because creating assets of that level costs money and consoles won't be able to run them anyway. Maybe we'll get a new Crysis in ten years but until then graphical development will only advance every five years.
shiiiit isn't the gtx680 the new mid-range card? i wanna know what the gtx790 can do.
What? When was the *80 mid-range? The 60 is mid-range. 80 is high-range and 90 is for enthusiasts.
Yeah, misleading article. It could only run it on a single 680 because a different type of anti-aliasing was used.

"The card will be available to purchase starting today for about $500 at select retailers. With it, you'll be able to boast about your ability to run Samaritan--in spite of not actually being able to play anything that looks like it yet."
500$ and it can run something like that tech demo? Oh boy all my money Goddamn, thats amazing
Now to be fair, they optimized it to run on a single 580 a while after they showed off the tech demo, but considering that they're still referring to the early demo they're basically saying it's as powerful as three 580s anyway.
Graphic production sure goes fast Also, 0:32 notice the Locust logo from Gears of War :v:
Am I right in saying this uses less power than a 560Ti?
the improvements are about ~20% over 580, epic said the samaritan tech demo used 3x 580, i really doubt 1x 680 can run that demo good as 3x 580.
Also [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfdKDyVo_P4[/hd] Sweet looking thing

Secondly, the unannounced GTX 690 will have 2 GPU's build in to compete against AMD's new graphic card, so if you really are looking for some goddamn powerful shit then just hold on until they announce the 690
I bought my 580 in January. Oh well..
Jesus fucking christ. Why did I buy a 580 recently...
Also [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfdKDyVo_P4[/hd] Sweet looking thing
TXAA looks like a Godsend, good to know it will be supported in the 400 and 500 series as well.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-680-review/
The 680 is scoring awfully low on some of these benchmarks. What's the deal?
Thinking I may go Nvidia for my next build, can't imagine the difference from two 5770s...
The 680 is scoring awfully low on some of these benchmarks. What's the deal?
Yeah, I don't get it either - it looks like the 590 is better when looking only at those FPS benchmarks.
$500? Is it going to be the same as that when it hits Europe and other places? So would it be around £300 for us brits? If so that's a fucking bargain for the power it's giving, usually graphics cards are more expensive.
Yay for being in Sweden, instead of $500 the GPU costs $740 here.
Yeah it costs around $679 here, a dollar more would be funny
$500? Is it going to be the same as that when it hits Europe and other places? So would it be around £300 for us brits? It'll probably be £400-450, since electronics are a) more expensive here due to taxes, and b) cost more for manufacturers to ship here. The £ is quite strong against the $, too, so add in that factor.
The 680 is scoring awfully low on some of these benchmarks. What's the deal?
My guess would be underdeveloped drivers.
I like engadgets mistake in the title of their 680 review.
Yeah, I don't get it either - it looks like the 590 is better when looking only at those FPS benchmarks.
That's because the 590 is a dual GPU? The last-generation equivalent was the 580.
