so about 4 or 5 ours ago, my download speeds went from a respectable 40 mbit/s to this:

but I don't know what's causing it. that upload speed is normal, and my isp prides itself on not throttling bandwidth.
I have also tested on a laptop, and from the other end of the house away from the router it's download speed is faster than that but only by half a mbit. download is the same.
I've tried restarting my router, my computer and my ethernet adapter but nothing seems to work.
anyone have any idea what the fuck is going on? am I just stupid or something?
edit: nvm lmao the second I posted this thread it's back to normal, y-you t-too internet
Maybe something on your network, if not your computer itself, is doing some heavy downloading? Make sure you don't have any viruses.
In these situations I would just call the ISP and tell them about my current issues. I suggest you do the same.
yeah it seems to have rectified itself (???) the second I made this thread which is interesting. I'll call them up in the morning and ask about it. thanks for your suggestions anyways guys
edit: yep "We are currently experiencing degraded service on our link between North and South Island. The issue has been traced and the Carriers technicians are en route."
this'll learn me to check my isps site before I post a thread :v:
