makes it look like they copy pasted the news from somewhere else

I thought it was "okay."
The setting earned some merit, the soundtrack has a few good pieces, but the gameplay was pretty damn linear and unbalanced. The game was easy as piss, without exploiting the numerous unbalanced aspects of the combat. The story didn't have anything going for it, either.
Got a few hours of fun out of it though.
I fuckin' loved Dishonored personally. Best game that have been released in a while. Far Cry 3 was fun, it was pretty long too. Enjoyed that about half as much.
Meanwhile in Eastern Europe: still no DLC. Thanks Bethesda, for splitting the game in different versions to prevent us re-selling the game to Americans for a cheaper price and still pricing it at exact same $60.
Going around a game with wonky AI, unbalanced gameplay it being piss easy while looking like a angsty slipknot fan hardly needs a reward like this.
The game was incredibly mediocore, wasn't really anything new or polished.
I really don't understand the praise it gets.
is that a framed picture of a penis in a suit in your avatar
Yes.
Dishonored had everything to become one of those big games, like a perfect 10/10, up there with HL/shock games/thief/etc...
But it was just too short and fast paced and the levels were too small, I wish the game had like another year or two in development because it felt like they had ideas that sort of had to get rushed and the story was lacking but the gameplay and setting were so fucking great.
Also that fluid and amazing combat, that swordplay, so great.
this game was amazing but way too short. it's the first game in years to have roped me into a marathon session, from the second mission to the end.
Am I the only person who found Dishonored to be rather boring?
It was pretty mediocre.
i hated that i was able to do the teleport thing through entire levels, and finish them in like 2 minutes.
Honestly the game felt amazing for me if you go all gun blazing rushing it all no frigging way your gonna finish it in no time
the game is supposed to adapt to your style, if you go stealth and actually thinking what you do it of course takes longer time but its much more rewarding in the end
If the setting had been explored a bit more and the game had been longer I'd agree, however I did virtually everything, did all takedowns none lethally (although the stupid glitch with the encounter between granny rags and slackjaw where it counts as a kill even if you do a none lethal takedown prevented me from officially doing it without killing) and only got about 20 hours out of it overall.
I think if they make another it really needs to be longer and a little less linear.

One of the most respected academies in the world begs to differ.

This as well, the teleport thing made the game so easy.
i hated that i was able to do the teleport thing through entire levels, and finish them in like 2 minutes.
It wasn't supposed to be used like that, why would you want to skip through the levels?
Am I the only person who found Dishonored to be rather boring?
classic facepunch, you're dumb for having a different opinion
agreed, though. the game was too easy, and the way the story was presented was atrocious, even if the core mechanics were fun and the setting was awesome
it just kind of flatlines

Good for them.
i hated that i was able to do the teleport thing through entire levels, and finish them in like 2 minutes.
That is the same as complaining that HL1 was bad because you could speedrun a level in 2 minutes aswell and effectively skip parts of the game completely.
It wasn't supposed to be used like that, why would you want to skip through the levels?
i did it on the bridge level because it was boring and it was the easiest way to get through without being spotted. the game can be played however i want to play it. face reality bud, if you were trying to get from one place to another without alerting guard suspicion, wouldn't you just teleport everywhere without being spotted?

that's some schizo logic brother, i never said that the game was bad either. i just hated the baseless power.

Hey man you can make the game less fun for yourself if you want.

i provide a potential problem and you do whatever you can to tell me i am wrong and should feel bad. how i played the game is besides the point, it doesn't eliminate the fact that this system can be potentially exploited.
I liked dishonoured. Yes, I can see how some might say it was unbalanced, because it kinda was. You have magic and guns while the enemy has guns. At least until [sp]later on when those assassins get to you.[/sp] However, saying that the teleporting ruined the game because you could teleport to the end of the level is stupid. You run out of the mana stuff rather quickly with teleport, so the only way I can see you being able to do this is using lots of potions or cheating somehow. If you use lots of potions (or even doing it on purpose), then you are "ruining" it yourself. The setting could and should have been expanded on, yes. It's a fucking fantastic atmosphere, and the art felt nice to me. But it does have it's flaws, I will agree there. Levels are linear in the sense they are convergent. You will always end up at the same point, no matter what path you take.

Who cares about exploits in a single player game.

The thing is stealth kills were so much stronger than any kind of direct confrontation and the enemies were plain dumb. You could teleport in, grab someone and teleport out without a single problem.
I still weep over the ending (that I got) in Dishonored. Amazing game.
