• Are there any decent alternatives to iTunes

I'm looking to buy an mp3 player, and because apparently iPods completely raped the market for mp3 players in Australia, I might have to settle for one of them. However, I absolutely refuse to use iTunes. It's horrible. So before I went out and bought an Ipod, I made sure that there were alternatives. There were, and I found some that were free and some that asked for money to use (lol). Anyway, my question is, are there any DECENT and EASY ones? Is it possible to just... Put what I want onto the iPod as if it were a memory stick? Every program I've looked at has said shit about syncing and using a library shit like that. I don't want this. If there's no way to just use an iPod without all this bullshit I'll just keep searching for a fucking Creative. Which I would have by now, if stores actually stocked anything but iPods anymore.
what OS do you use
I use XP sir Will upgrade to Win7 in the forseeable future but that's not an issue right now.
You can do that with iTunes. Just check the "Manage music and videos manually" and enjoy. Or Jailbreak it and use a file manager.
So wait, why do I need to have iTunes at all if it's that simple? I need the program... so I don't have to use the program? Is jailbreaking basically modifying the firmware or something?

Oh well I'll live. But I'd still rather go without having iTunes at all. Also can you jailbreak any kind of iPod? I dunno what's out now I just want to buy a standard one not a touch or a shuffle or anything. If you can't tell I don't know shit about ipods.
You can jailbreak a touch one, don't know about others.
Fuck it, I'll find a Creative Zen online Thanks for filling me in though, helped me make my decision
