Does anyone know why my steam is a godamn slow piece of SHIT? Seriously, whenever I open up steam it lags like fuck, when I open my friends list, whenever I scroll down it stops responding for some seconds and when I click groups, OH, then it FUCKS UP so bad. I really need a fix for this, it would be lovely if you guys happen to have one. (My computer isn't bad, it should be able to run Steam just fine.)
Try restarting your computer This happens to me every once in a while, restarting usually fixes it, if not end some unnessecary programs such as utorrent and Skype.
I restarted my computer several times, even reinstalled Windows to try and fix this problem, but, it might be because I'm in 273 groups. How do I leave groups in a quick way?
Is that Windows 8? If it is then why are you expecting steam to support an OS that has not even been released fully yet.
Use Windows 7
Yeah, I used Windows 7, same thing, insane lag.
Close your friend's list.
Is that Windows 8? If it is then why are you expecting steam to support an OS that has not even been released fully yet.
You know pretty much every application that works on 7 works on 8, right? Win8 here, Steam is using 0-1% CPU, 90MB of ram.
Stop using Windows 96.
Blow up your computer.
Stop using Windows 96.
what some of us prefer Windows 8
You'd be better off posting this here. Fast Threads is not a good place for serious tech support.
leave all your groups
Is that Windows 8? If it is then why are you expecting steam to support an OS that has not even been released fully yet.
Wait, you can GET Windows 8? Also, why are you even using Windows 8? It looks like ass.
Windows 8 can't be the problem, everything works just fine here. [editline]27th June 2012[/editline]
Wait, you can GET Windows 8? Also, why are you even using Windows 8? It looks like ass.
It looks fine.
Go offline and see if it still lags if so do something about your groups
Wait, you can GET Windows 8? Also, why are you even using Windows 8? It looks like ass.
It's been out on free preview for MONTHS now, and it looks like 7 for the most part.

Is this right or was there some kind of overhaul nobody told me about.

*snip* Ignore this post, totally thought I was typing into the google search bar and instinctively hit enter.
Uninstall Steam Forever
Make a new account, no groups, no friends.
Make a new account, no groups, no friends.
That's not gonna change anything at all
Wait, you can GET Windows 8? Also, why are you even using Windows 8? It looks like ass.
To me it is an optimized Windows 7 with some new features including the new Metro UI from Windows Phone/Xbox 360. The removal of the Start button isn't much of a disaster, you can get easily used to it
Steam takes up a lot of cpu. It's common knowledge at this point, although it should only take up around 30 or 40, 50 is a problem.
Steam takes up a lot of cpu. You guys are doing something wrong.
I find that if I have anything downloading, Steam takes up insane amounts of CPU. Do you have any updates/downloads paused? If so, either delete or finish them.
My Steam has been heavy as fuck since the UI update a few years back. My computer is shit though. Athlon 3400+ ATI...FUCKING ATI Radeon x1300Pro 2 GB DDR1 133mhz ram Suck it.
