Hello. Anybody can suggest good RPG games with old JRPG graphics? Something like this? I found some: NDS - Nanashi no Geemu/Nameless game, 7th dragon GBC/GBA - Dragon Warrior 3, Final Fantasy Adventure, Pokemon, Final Fantasy 1&2 NES - Hyaku no Sekai no Monogatari - The Tales on a Watery Wilderness PC - The Witch House, Ib,
You list a few action RPGs or horror games with RPG tilesets, so I'll try to keep that in mind. Magical Star Sign on NDS Radiant Historia on NDS Live a Live on SNES. You might especially like this for the story telling elements and actual combat. It's about different people in different times dealing with a bigger force that intertwines their fates. There's and horror section that's like the first Alien movie that's fucking awesome where you hack an arcade machine to kill it. Wizardry on SNES A lot of Dragon Quest games on 3DS have a Pixel Mode that reverts everything to the old sprite style or are only old pixel art. Lunar Silver Story on PS1. I think there's a GBA version too. Sweet Home on Famicom is this weird Resident Evil RPG prototype. For RPG maker horror games, a few i know the names of Ao Oni Series Corpse Party Series (Originally a RPG maker game, now on PSP and PC I think) Pocket Mirror Forest of Drizzling Rain(Probably doesn't fit your request graphics wise) The Boogie Man Yume Nikki(This one is akin to LSD dream sim on PS1) Re:Kinder (Horror game with light RPG elements) Alice Mare The Sandman The Longing Ribbon(Also has light RPG elements) To The Moon(Highly recommend this one for the heart wrenching story)
The closest I can think of right now is Safety: Life Is A Maze for a GB style flavour. (Though it's more of a maze crawler where the battles are "stand next to baddy and numbers get subtracted") Really though, a number of RPG Maker 2000/2003 games tend to have that style, so that's a good place to look for PC. The Phantasy Star games on the Master System and Megadrive/Genesis also fit the description.
Fallout 1 Fallout 2 These two games are great and you will laugh a lot when playing them
For your own research, you might want to look into Hard Core Gaming 101's JRPG list For RPG maker horror games, I personally go through This guy's channel for titles
The Escapists maybe
LISA if you want to hate yourself. Fantastic game.
Undertale
Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment
Undertale
Pretty much. For all the shit the fanbase gets (both deserved and undeserved), it's still a genuinely good game.
I will honestly second Radiant Historia that was mentioned a few posts above, easily one of the most memorable RPGs I've ever played. not flawless, but everything else was just so great it's definitely worth a check.
Those are nice lists. Forgot to ask, but do you guys knows of any with romance elements? Sometimes I'm in the mood for it.
Forgot to ask, but do you guys knows of any with romance elements? The only real game I can think of is the older Harvest Moon games.
There's also Recettear, which is pretty fun. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DHWizD9.jpg[/t]
