I have made a few threads now about some issues I was having with my Graphics Card Upgrade. I now know that I need a new MotherBoard. I would like to know if this setup will work or not.
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic (32-bit)
MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-EP41T-UD3L **
Graphics: Gainward NVIDIA GTS 250 (1GB) **
RAM: Kingston 2GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz **
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
PSU: Coolermaster Extreme Power+ 500W **
Hard Drives: Western Digital 80GB ATA
Hitachi 500GB SATA **
Optical Drives: Standard LG DVD-RW
** Are the parts that I am upgrading to other parts are original and staying
Will this setup work or not?
Thanks
It will work, but you should seriously consider buying Win7 64-bit and upgrade to 4GB RAM. Drop that 80GB if you buy Win7, since it's gonna be a hell to start it up.
I have mentioned it to Freebeez, Getting 64 bit. He seems pretty set on getting 32 bit...
And I'd consider getting a 1tb Freebeez. My 500gb disappeared a lot sooner than I'd hoped. And there's only a small jump for a 500gb to 1tb price wise.
getting 32 bit at this point is stupid, you're just limiting yourself
This is only an upgrade to "get by" for a while until I can save some more money, I will be doing a much heavier upgrade in 6 months or so which then i will be changing to 64-bit.

Go with Windows 7, much better than Vista (In all ways).

You're still limiting yourself. Get Windows 7 64bit and save yourself a lot of time and extra money.
Why would you do that?
Just go 64 bit now. Unless it's a pure cash flow issue.. Then I can understand.
Mokkan :\
