At least it's good to know they aren't going to rush it out.
That's almost 2 years from now, it's a long time to wait. I'm glad it was finally announced but it's kinda disappointing it was announced when it's that far away.

I'm totally okay with waiting, I have other games to finish before I can devote the rest of my life to this game -- that is, given this is a worthy sequel to the game that claimed my middle school years.
At least it means they'll be able to spend a good amount of time developing it. Plus if it arrives around the same time as Episode 7, it'll almost certainly include some content from the film also which will be a nice bonus.

I hope they remake some of the classic maps. It just won't be Battlefront without Ren Vhar, wherever the fuck that even is.
A release target... for Battlefront 3. Never thought I'd see the day.
Why is it just called Battlefront, not Battlefront 3?
Why is it just called Battlefront, not Battlefront 3?
Because its there own take on the battlefront games.
“There are absolutely things in the previous Battlefront games that you’ll recognise and remember, but DICE wants to put its own flavour on it. That’s the only way we can do it. “Hence it’s called Star Wars: Battlefront, without a 3 at the end. We want to say it’s something new. But again, it’s going to be very Star Wars and very cool.”
wasn't the game 99.9% done? or are they redoing everything lucausarts had done..
Just in time for Celebration VII and Episode VII.
wasn't the game 99.9% done? or are they redoing everything lucausarts had done..
The game was canceled by Lucasarts on 99.9% done. Then the company got canned and DICE begged to make a game on Battlefront, and so here we are now.
snip I was wrong
