So I just recieved my ATI HD 5850, and I was wondering if it came with directx 11 on the newest drivers or is there a place I have to download it? In STALKER: Call of Pripyat the highest setting it said was DX10 so I'm not sure.
As long as you're on windows 7 with latest video drivers you will have directx11. Not many games use directx11 yet so they will still say directx10
What? Direct X 11 does not apply to windows vista? lies [editline]04:22PM[/editline] But yeah I figured out it's working.. [editline]06:09PM[/editline] Haha it's not actually working, I'm downloading SP2 to make it work now though
Get the latest ATI drivers, and just in case, this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en Get the SP2 installed first, of course. After you do all this, it definitely should work.
Why are you even on Vista? Get Windows 7
He should use Vista if he can't afford Windows 7.
Use this program to mess around and to check if DX11 works on your PC. It's just a some kind of falling-sand like program that simulates fire in 3D.
What's wrong with vista you can also try unigine http://unigine.com/download/ it's also a benchmarking tool and you can enable and disable dx11 to see whether it works [editline]04:23PM[/editline] What's wrong with vista you can also try unigine http://unigine.com/download/ it's also a benchmarking tool and you can enable and disable dx11 to see whether it works
