oh no
I'm not totally worried.
Overlord Map Pack $14.99 adds New Athens.
Destiny is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3
bring it to pc... please... just don't mess it up and it'll sell like bread in france...
Activision should handle Bungie like NCSoft handles Arenanet: Staying the fuck out of the way and raking in the royalties.
Wait, The legal documents posted on Bungie.net it said that Activision is publishing and marketing and the only time they can interfere with the game is if the deadline is not met.

Otherwise optimistic.
Looks like it's console exclusive by the looks of it.
Some 'totally crazy but plausible' conspiracy theory I heard on /v/: Activi$ion wants the casual Call of Duty audience. Bungie doesn't make that kind of game (the average CoD kiddo would be lost trying to comprehend the subtleties of Halo's plot, much less something on the level of Marathon's) According to leaked documents, the terms of their contract state that Activision can step in and seize creative control if it doesn't meet sales expectations. Activision actively sabotages the development of the first installement of Destiny in any way it can. First game of Destiny flops. Activision gains control of it. Dumbs it down for the CoD audience. They make back their initial losses from the first game and rake in massive profits from the new, lowest common denominator pandering installment. Would be ballsy, but I can see Activision trying it, seeing some of the other shady shit they've done to manipulate studios under their thumb.

Its gonna be on PC due to legally recognized fucking contracts between Activision and Bungie. As of now, Activision can legally do nothing but publish the game, and market it. The worst they can do is market it as a CoD game. Or they get their asses sued and Bungie becomes independent.

I was hoping the article would say "not at all" and just end there.
Some 'totally crazy but plausible' conspiracy theory I heard on /v/:
lol
Activi$ion wants the casual Call of Duty audience.
Most publishers do.
Bungie doesn't make that kind of game (the average CoD kiddo would be lost trying to comprehend the subtleties of Halo's plot, much less something on the level of Marathon's)
"subtleties of Halo's plot" I love Halo but it's amazing how hard you can play folks with a typical human vs aliens story by simply throwing an ounce of religion into the mix.
According to leaked documents, the terms of their contract state that Activision can step in and seize creative control if it doesn't meet sales expectations.
Leaked documents that have no source but someone on /v/ who's friends uncles brothers nephews girlfriends dads totally heard about it at the watercooler.
Activision actively sabotages the development of the first installement of Destiny in any way it can.
Activision is smarter than people on /v/
First game of Destiny flops. Activision gains control of it. Dumbs it down for the CoD audience. They make back their initial losses from the first game and rake in massive profits from the new, lowest common denominator pandering installment.
You can tell this is a post from /v/ because it paints people who buy Call of Duty like they are some kind of neanderthals who will only buy one game when in reality most of the people who buy CoD also, surprisingly, buy other games. Hell, sometimes it's even games you like! The problem with criticizing the "CoD audience" and fabricating insane conspiracy theories that developers "are going for the audience" is that the people who buy and enjoy CoD aren't a homogenesis block of clones with the same tastes and opinions.
Would be ballsy, but I can see Activision trying it, seeing some of the other shady shit they've done to manipulate studios under their thumb.
When they do shady shit it's usually to their benefit. The best thing they can do right now is just sit back and let them work.
It's fucking Bungie. I don't even own an Xbox, but those guys print money. If Activision is smart, they'll sit back and get the money-buckets ready.
Wait, The legal documents posted on Bungie.net it said that Activision is publishing and marketing and the only time they can interfere with the game is if the deadline is not met.
They should be able to observe the progress of the game so they can understand how to market it. If Bungie wants Activision involved with production, that's their business.
