So I bought this headset after my super old Sennheiser HD 202s finally kicked the bucket after 6 years of constant work. I looked into them lightly, read some reviews and listened to some mic tests, and they aren't that bad. Definitely not super awesome gaming bullshit, but they suit my needs and are really comfortable. Now onto my problem. When me and my friends are gaming or just talking over steam/skype/vent they can damn near hear everything I can hear. They hear themselves talking, and they can hear my game/music playing. They say it's not blatantly loud, but loud enough for them to notice it all the time which is a serious problem for me because me and my friends game pretty much every night.
I assumed this had to do with them being open ear, but I borrowed my cousin's Turtle Beach Z2s which are also open ear and no matter how loud I play anything they can't hear any feedback like they do with my Carcharias. Even with noise suppression and some anti-speaker bullshit in my stock Realtek HD settings don't stop it. The only other thing I can think of is that it might be picking up noise from the speakers internally or something. I was considering RMAing them, but I really like how disturbingly light and comfortable they are, and the sound quality is pretty decent. I'd also have to pay like $14 shipping and a $12 restocking fee so yeah fuck that.
Can anybody help me?
the input and output cables are probably connected incorrectly somewhere, they are faulty and you should return them.
I had the Carcharias for about a year, I had the exact same thing. I think it's just a design flaw, poor EMF shielding or something. I eventually sold my pair to a friend for the price I bought them for (since I got them on sale) and got a G930, and then I could hear just how bad it was when my friend used them.
