Depends on the dog a lot actually, our dog (a black lab) is very sweet and tends not to break and chew up anything

Cats are generally easier to take care of and can be used as a sort of "soft toy". Dogs stink, drool and bleah... i prefer cosy and fluffy cats.

Depends on the specific cat or dog. There are asshole cats and annoying dogs but I've managed to strike it lucky with both my cats and dogs.

My cat sees me as a tool, in many senses of the word. My dog sees me as his friend. Well, not literally, cuz he's blind. They've both got their quirks and charms and honestly I don't think I'd choose one over the other.
