Hopefully this is in the right forum.
Well to describe my problem, I have a problem with my audio in Crysis which literally makes the game unplayable. The easiest way to describe it is a consistent crackle, and at random intervals of between 1-2 seconds. I get this problem on the main menu and when I'm loading a level as well, except it's better here (only every 3-5 seconds(still not great, but better)). Hopefully that is enough of a description for the problem, if need be I can try and describe the problem more.
Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.66GHz
4GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
Logitech G35 Headset
and if it's relevant, I have dual monitors
Samsung SyncMaster (1920x1080@59Hz)
Samsung SyncMaster (1600x900@60Hz)
Now, I have googled this problem and tried numerous things, so much so that I can't even remember them all, and none have even fixed my problem at all. However when googling, I found that audio problems in Crysis must be fairly common, so I hope someone here at Facepunch has had the same/a similar problem and has resolved it.
What I have tried based on suggestions from other websites, and will try again if convinced (at this point I'm quite easily convinced and willing to try anything to fix it):

Changing compatibility mode to Windows Vista SP2 and Windows XP SP2

Enabling triple buffering in my NVIDIA control settings

Updating G35 drivers again, or rather uninstalling and then reinstalling

Using Vista G35 drivers

Configuring the in-game settings, even at a point putting everything on low to see if that worked (which evidently it didn't)
I read a suggestion on the steam forums which said that downgrading from 1.2 to 1.1 fixed the problem, however I have no idea how to or if it's even possible to do with the steam copy so i might try that if someone here can't offer a better solution, or if someone here tells me how.
So hopefully someone here can help me, I've been wanting to play Crysis for a while now and it's kind of annoying that when I finally get around to it I can't.
There's an option in the windows sound settings to reduce the quality of the sound which usually fixes problems like this. I'm not sure exactly where it is since I'm not on my computer at the moment, but try right clicking the volume icon in the taskbar and go on properties

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it didn't seem to work :frown:
It might be your headset, I would buy a cheap-ass pair of headphones on amazon (Perhaps these, http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-Earphones-Headphones-Classic/dp/B002OF6BLG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1306413892&sr=8-2)
This happened to me. It has nothing to do with the sound itself, but it's something to do with the innards of your PC. I don't exactly know what; but cleaning out my PC case and getting rid of all the dust in the fans, ESPECIALLY the graphics card seemed to fix it for me for a while, but the problem came back. Perhaps that might work for you; try cleaning out computer with a can of air and getting rid of all the dust that has accumulated in the fans.

I didn't have this problem with Crysis, but had it with similarly demanding games.
