im not sure if this videocard will work with this motherboard videocard: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1368440&sku=P450-6459 motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1336140&sku=B450-2432 i hope someone can help edit: its a budget gaming pc under $650
You can swing a way higher GPU than that for a budget of $650
ok, but how do i tell if a videocard and mother will work together [editline]1st February 2012[/editline]
You can swing a way higher GPU than that for a budget of $650
ok, but how do i tell if a videocard and mother will work together edit: also how much higher can i go for the GPU
I'd say get a Gtx 560 and to tell if it will work with your motherboard, just look at what it's interface is. For example, the Gtx 560 is a PCI Express 2.0 x16. Just look if the motherboard supports that connection.

Yeah dude here, Mobo GPU Do you need an OS? Peripherals?
sorry asking so many dumb questions , but what do Os and peripherals mean lol
Nah it's fine. But I just have to ask. Are you really comfortable with building a pc? While most would consider doing this to be easy, you do need a certain amount of understanding. But, to answer your questions, an OS is short for Operating System, like windows or mac os. And a peripheral is something like a mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.
i clicked into OS meaning operating system after i post the reply , also i have the peripherals already , and my friend is going to help me put it together , and yes i am im just verify my gut feelings is all
So what other components are you getting? CPU RAM Power Supply (others) If you don't even know what an OS/peripherals are I doubt you know the correct things to choose haha
Do you have a HDD, optical drive, anything that can be salvaged? If you have an old desktop, can you tell me what it was?

Eh... a $45 processor is gonna be terrible. Having 8gb of ram with a shitty processor isn't going to do you any good. CPU is the most important component in a PC... don't cheap out on the CPU
CPU is the most important component in a PC... don't cheap out on the CPU
CPU is definitely important, but not the most important. CPU and GPU can create bottlenecks for each other if they aren't on par with each other, sure. However, what most people fail to realize is that the most important component in a computer is the PSU. It is responsible for delivering clean, stable and enough energy to every part of the computer. Most importantly it is responsible for SAFELY delivering that energy. Skimp on a PSU = possibly destroying every part of your machine.
im upgrading from a laptop so no to salvaging [editline]1st February 2012[/editline] it was mostly a brain fart if you read the post after he told me what it was CPU: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6620918&sku=A79-1450 RAM: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5688415&sku=P33-6110 power supply: is included in case http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=719393&sku=A107-3040 HARD DRIVE: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1455518&sku=S350-1036 MOTHERBOARD: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=61486&sku=M452-6110 OPTICAL DRIVE: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1387814&sku=O451-1030%20OEM hope that helps lol
The CPU and motherboard are not compatible. If you plan on buying a GTX 560 with that processor, you'd be wasting your money. You'd either have to buy a better CPU or downgrade the GPU. If you seriously want a gaming PC, a single core processor isn't going to work out too well at all.

Adapters such as a SATA<->IDE are used for transferring information, for instance, if you were upgrading your IDE drive to a SATA and you wanted some or all of the information off of it. They aren't really for a permanent solution.

i decided to restart from the ground up and heres the new build CPU: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6524806&sku=I69-5700\ VIDEO CARD: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=852267&sku=P450-0214 MOTHERBOARD: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7325821&sku=M452-6208 RAM: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=40739&sku=C13-5720 POWERSUPPLE: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1147668&sku=U12-41528 HARDDRIVE: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1455518&sku=S350-1036 OPTICAL DRIVE: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4829307&sku=L12-1312%20OEM i also uped my budget to 700 case is $40 Peripherals $140 fans and os and other stuff are $119 so i have 25 dollars to spare
OP, I would put you a build together but I'm about to go to bed. If you dont have one by tomorrow I'll throw one together. I'll give you a quick guideline though. But this really almost seems like a troll thread, you aren't really listening to much you've been told in previous posts (even though there isn't much), and you don't seem to be making an effort to learn. You really might want to look up resources on current gen hardware, and go from there. Regarding the build above, scrap the GPU, CPU, MOBO, and hard drive as its a 2.5. Look at either the intel 2500k or Phenom II x4 955 for the processor. If you choose the 2500k, get a 1155 motherboard. For the Phenom, get an AM3+ board. I'd stay away from micro-ATX as well. As for the GPU, your budget will probably only allow a 6850 or maybe a 6870, so look at those. Get the desktop sized Spinpoint F3. And probably get a 500w PSU, it may be a bit safer.

thank to the people that tried to help me but i think im just going to ask my friends to help me put one together
I built a computer just a month ago, and here's one thing; be sure you get the right socket cpu. I thought my i5 would fit in the new board, but the board was an 1155 whereas the cpu was 1156. Also, 700 dollars doesn't seem like enough for a really good gaming computer... Although with me being retardedly wealthy, I went ahead and bought an i7. Got it on fry's website for $216. Also, my gpu alone was $516. That 210 won't get far.

That processor is LGA775, motherboard accepts LGA1155. You'll need to get this processor: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=567308&CatId=7226 Same amount of money, but it will fit your motherboard.
