Love this guy's mapping. Also played his Doom maps before and they are decent.
Fucking incredible mod. Can't wait to play it yet again, interested to see what's changed.
Great maps but the narrative was horribly pretentious.
Great maps but the narrative was horribly pretentious.
What in the fuck are you talking about? No it wasn't.
I played some of this mod a while back, and I never really understood why it gets so much praise. It wasn't bad by any stretch, but I didn't see any reason to call it fantastic. I don't remember much about the plot. All I can say is that I am sick to death of mythology references.
Ooh, I remember this. Great maps indeed.
Doesn't he work at Valve now and is in charge of their ARGs?

Back then there weren't tons of Source mods even though there was still a decent amount, and because of that this mod stood out. It had an interesting and mysterious storyline along with the best architecture compared to the mods of that time. It's still incredibly fun to play and it was one of the main reasons I wanted to learn how Source worked, this game and Adam's story is pretty inspiring for people wanting to get into the modding scene. At least to me it was.
When I saw MI on the front page I thought this was gunna be about Missing Information, I'm sad now.
What in the fuck are you talking about? No it wasn't.

I am Hypatia, murdered for her beliefs, discoveries ignored by fools, name stricken from record. I am Joyeuse, an infinitely cutting blade wielded by an ignorant tyrant, for a cultural renaissance based upon military might. I am Athena, hunter and scientist, covertly guiding long-dead warriors for my quiet purposes. And as they say, technology and violence are a girl's best friends; power is eternal delight. Times have changed, moved on. I have forgiven my past enemies, but now in repentance I must forgive my colleagues; their actions have brought on more constructed suffering than your world has ever previously known. Walking among the fires of my forgotten home, dismayed by the torment and insanity of our unwitting hosts, ignored by long-absent angels, I studied their downfall. In short, I must create my own system, or be enslaved by another. And in this, I have an advantage. Your ancients were superstitious, deluded zealots, prone to inflation of already impossible, beautiful claims. My adopted forefathers are different, their scattered, discarded playthings more conducive to a meaningful imposition of my thoughts upon our captors. Fragments of these minor, pivotal dialogues may soon periodically appear, released from an uncertain, unwelcome future where my previous, abortive attempts at reconciliation may go forgotten. No more restraint, I am too strong for that. I am Minerva.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Does anyone know; will there be a new page on Steam for the director's cut, or is the old one just updated without any name change?
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
I just pretend it's GLaDOS
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Not seeing what you're getting at here.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Having some good narrative is absolutely disgusting huh? It may be distasteful for you and maybe a handful of people but to everyone else it's excellent. The fact that you're focusing on that alone points out that you're here just to bash the mod.
I never played this before, but I installed it earlier. I'll play this tomorrow whenever the hell I wake up.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
I agree man, mythology is SOOOOOO pretentious, gosh what were those Greeks, Romans, and other cultures thinking. UGH.

One of the best single player mods for any game really Kind of sad though that he doesn't really do level design at valve anymore afaik considering they don't seem to really be making many games these days lol [editline]1st May 2013[/editline]
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
It's as if you never played the mod at all Any story sounds stupid when you truncate it
I feel old finding out that I played Minerva six years ago. I still remember it fairly well because of the unique level design.
