Hey!
Can you guys give me some advice on a graphics card (dont care if its an old one that id have to buy second hand) that would do Source games at 60 FPS + at 1080p?
Im talking max settings with AI off or set to x2 at the very most. The games it will be running:
Portal 2 , Portal, Half Life 2, Black mesa, Garrys Mod 13, Minecraft, CSS and a few others.
This is all for a friend who wants me to build a PC for him.
I was first thinking a 5450 but I cant find any rock solid evidence of it running Gmod 13 at above 60+ FPS. I can only find one video of it on Gmod 12 which is nothing to go by since Gmod 13 is slower.

The CPU is gonna be an AMD A8. I know its a bottleneck but he plans to upgrade it later. Thinking of it actualy, the A8 has a good GPU.... Would it be able to do all that?
I know im asking the world for such a cheap card but eh.
It might be worth going to the A10, and then you should be able to do all of that using the integrated GPU.

Let me save you the embarrassment of telling you harshly before some asshole comes in here and yells at you. That card is pile of crap. For $15 more you can get an Geforce GTS450 that will run all the things you're trying to run and has a benchmark twice as good as that one. Plus my personal experience with the GTS450 is phenomenal. I loved mine. It lasted for 4 plus years of daily heavy use.
I would recommend this.

While a GTS450 is a decent card, for Source the integrated graphics with the A10 would probably be adequate.

I love the GTS 450 such a well aged card. like a nice wine :V. Also bro id suggest a cheap second hand card off ebay. i got a HD 5750 1Gb Gddr5 for £45
