Could I do this in audacity? If not, which program would let me do it?
I know that audacity has an EQ, I don't really use audacity that much so I don't know where to locate the EQ.
Umm, online find a soundbite of a blank record and just put it over the music file in audacity. Sometimes it actually sounds very nice without the record if you just get rid of the bass.
I have EQ up, how do I remove bass? I don't edit sounds much.
To remove bass, bring down the bars to the far left.
iirc Audacity has a built in white noise generator.
band pass filter, get rid of everything bellow 400hz and everything above 2khz
then compress the sound using a compressor and add some light distortion
