i haven't played dota 2 enough to know what an -override_vpk is. what does it even do? allows custom models or something?

That's how people have hosted custom maps. .vpk is just the packing format Source uses to extract data (like a .zip file). That's where all the files for the game are. I assume the competetive advantage comes from people altering special effects and models to be easier to see, remove invisibility, smoke, etc or something along those lines.

It doesn't disable fog, whoever took that picture was using -allvision
It just makes it easier to find all the little hiding spots in the trees.
but now you have -enable_addons
So is sv_pure not working anymore so that override_vpk is disabled? Or this is just valve enabling sv_pure?
