Right, here's the specs on my current desktop. I won't be getting a dedicated game rig since this one is still running and is serving me rather well. Preferably something that could run Shogun 2 on high setting.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130613 This might work. It's a 570 for $270. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127565 Or this 560 Ti. The Twin Frozr II seems to be a popular card.
amd hd7850 runs shogun 2 on all max
Is there a Nvidia equivalency to that?
what the guy posted above. GTX 560Ti or a GTX570 are similar in performance (GTX560ti slightly less powerful, gtx570 slightly more powerful). the hd7850 is more efficient and uses less power. I believe it is also cheaper but I'm not 100% on that
People have been complaining for a while about AMD's more recent driver releases containing major bugs. I can't vouch for the accuracy of these claims, but it's something worth looking up. What are your reasons for preferring Nvidia over AMD?
don't bother asking until you're ready to buy, prices will change so much by the end of the year that any decision made now is pointless and in the next thread post which PSU you have, if you're using a POS 300W from a prebuilt then you're going to have to replace it as well (and seeing as you have a pegatron mobo that's not unlikely)
Yeah I took my desktop to a bunch of techies and they told me to buy a replacement off newegg. Just get a 350w if I can get it to fit.

Can't say about later drivers, but I'd go NVIDIA in terms of drivers for a little bit.
