I'm still confused as to why it took so long for them to add silencers.

It's quite obvious and stated directly in the article.
"the silencers were first removed because they lent CTs a slight unfair advantage - but promised they'd be reintroduced once balancing issues were ironed out."
The only point of Silencers is to remove your mark on the radar while shooting correct?

And it makes you really cool.
Elite tier 1 operator
This should have been in the release.
Along with sprays.
Along with func_vehicle.

That's CoD, the radar in CSGO only paints you when you're seen by an enemy
Edit: Why the disagrees? You can go in game and test it yourself, just shooting your gun doesn't paint you on the radar
Glock have burst and isn't the AK more powerful (but less accurate) than the M4? A silencer would only balance things if anything.
Isn't the AK and M4 damage the same from CSS?
Like AK takes 1 headshot and M4 takes 2?
The only point of Silencers is to remove yourr mark on the radar while shooting correct?
The only thing the silencer does in 1.6 and CSS is make your gun quieter, change the recoil pattern of the gun, and reduce your damage output slightly.
I can tell you, however, that silencers are really powerful in competitive play, especially in 1.6. When you play at a competitive level, most of the game is about intel gathering so your team can get an advantage in a fight. I can't tell you how many times there's a CT in the back of B site with a silenced colt, but the rest of the team is looking at double doors because we all just saw a guy drop out. It's hard to hear that silenced colt over a bunch of screaming ak's, making reacting to it really difficult.
I wonder what they'll do to balance it, not that it really matters. The teams swap sides halfway through a scrim anyway.
Still, I always thought it was really weird that only the CTs got them.
silencers make you shoot better, it's a fact man. That last kill you got wasn't because you're getting better, it's because you had a silencer on your m4.

It changes the recoil pattern, so if you've grown more accustomed to the silencer being attached it will make you a better shot when it's on. A lot of players find the silenced recoil pattern easier to follow than the unsilenced one.
That's neat, but can we get anti-silencers? I've always felt the LMG didn't strike enough fear into the hearts of my enemies to be a practical weapon.

What would that even look like? Would it be, like, a funnel stuck on the end of your gun?
What about the Riot Shield? When's that coming back?

So... make them do less damage when they're attached, you know, like the other Counter-Strike Games.

Trigger is wired to tactical-rail-mounted air horns.
And a megaphone.

Probably something like the 'loudener' at 0:20

Damn you!
Nah that thing's for shooting down police helicopters.

Yeah but it's a funnier picture than Homer staring at a funnel being held by an offscreen man

He is completely right, what's with the disagrees?
That's only not true with decoys.

It's also like a fartcan for ricers.

This thing actually loudens guns. It's made as a flash-hider for short-barreled rifles, since SBRs get absolutely massive muzzle-flash from unburnt powder escaping the small barrel. Where a regular flash hider disperses the flash so it's less noticable, this one just throws it away from the user to avoid blinding yourself when firing in dark areas. And it makes your gun loooud.

It's not that hard to give silencers to both teams in somewhat equal guns.
At least in my opinion.
What about the Riot Shield? When's that coming back?
there was a riot shield?
