Heres what I got's in the mail yesterday:

and

for free.
Here's the story:
I was looking for a budget graphics card, and I found one. The nVidia Geforce 8400GS. I asked facepunch what their results with this card were... and everyone said that the card sucks, and I should get a better one. I was skeptical that it couldn't run source games well, and it turned out it usually gets 15 fps on high, so they were right. Facepunchers were discussing graphics cards with me, most recommending the ATi Radeon HD 5450. The problem was, I was stuck with 35 bucks to spend on a card. The 5450 was around twenty dollars more (still not much more, but like I said 35 dollars was the max)
But then came Brt5470, otherwise known as Cresti, stating a simple post of "I'll mail you my 4870 if it will fit in your case."
My jaw dropped, and I almost immediately reminded me that something like this is too good to be true... way to good to come to fruition. Yet, I still looked up the card, thinking that this guy was serious. When it came to me that this card could play Crysis... and on high... with 40+ fps.. I almost died of a heart attack. I can't even play NFS:MW with 30+ fps on low as of when I was stuck with the Intel GMA 950. I looked up more about the card and had to keep reminding myself that this is too good to be true, which in most cases it is.
It wasn't long before I found a probem. Doing this research, I found out that my power supply wouldn't be as good as it would have to be in order to add the 4870. The card requires 2 six pin power adapters which mine didn't have, and if it did, it would'nt of had enough voltage (considering it was a 250 watt psu). I contacted Brt5470 on steam, and said thanks for the generous descision, but he shouldn't give it to me because of my psu.
But then a mericle happened which rendered this whole thing as somthing that would come true.
After just a couple of long seconds, he responded by telling me, "It will be hard to part with... but I'll give you my Seasonic S12 600W if you really need it". I did need it, but I felt bad for just taking all this stuff. I asked him if he was serious and he said yes, and that he doesn't really care (at this point I knew he was one hell of a guy).
I started watching some of his youtube videos, which I must say are pretty impressive. He has some on there playing games and working on computers.
Anyways, after a day or two, I exchanged my contact and shipping info, and he would have the PSU and the card shipped out the next day, arriving in a week.
We went a little while without any contact, until I asked him what postal service he used. He responded with UPS, and gave me the tracking number. On the moment I looked, it said it would be here within one business day.
As you can porbably tell, I was extatic. The thought that I might be getting a HD 4870 with the kind of money I had? Orgasmic. It all happened. It all came true, and when it got here, you should have seen my face. Btw, nice facepunch logo, Brt5470.
I really wanted to record the unboxing of these items, however every camera in the house was useless at the moment of the packages arrival. I left mine in my pocket... and it went in the washer, and the other one was dead, but we didn't have the kind of cord to charge it. We managed to get about 1 and 1/2 minutes of recording on the dead one, and it was of me struggling with the tape. So sorry that I couldn't record the unboxing man, I was sad too.
It took me a good hour to get it installed, I kept forgetting things which were easy, but became a nuisance after a while. For instance, I got the card seated, psu seated, all the wires plugged in.. and I forgot to put back in the heatsink. Sooo... I removed the card, plugged in the heatsink, then turned it on to see if everything was functioning correctly. After about 15 seconds my computer shut off, and I almost immediatley knew it was a heating failure.. so I thought I had broken the heatsink in some way.
As it turns out, it was just rotated wrong, so I got it seated correctly, put everything in right... and we were good to go. I got the drivers installed, and I was extremely happy that my 2.9 (desktop graphics) and 3.0 (gaming graphics) on the Windows Assesment went up to 5.9's.

All of my games now run at around 70 to 150 fps depending on the game. Even GTA IV runs at about 55-60 fps, its just I have 1GB of RAM + I'm using vista, so buildings and the ground sometimes don't show up.

Benchmarks: Before and after
BEFORE
Half Life 2
10 fps. Not even worth watching the video I made.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
(Absolutely horrendous FPS on the GMA 950. It was unplayable at all times on high, and even sometimes on low.)

Flatout 2
(This is probably the most playable game without recording with GMA 950)

GTA IV
(See for yourself.)

:P
AFTER
Half Life 2
(Without fraps it goes around 90+ fps)

FPS W/Out recording:
Neef For Speed: Most Wanted
(Epic FPS on this game. I didn't even know this game looked as awesome as it does at high settings. Too bad it doesn't have a 1366 x 768 res. setting)

Flatout 2

GTA IV
(It works, it has great fps, but it skips. Most likely due to my RAM. Otherwise, fine. I keep the settings at low so it doesnt skip as much, totally playable. And trust me, fraps doesn't do it justice)

A little GMod gameplay with epic graphics!
(The fps is only somewhat bad because of my RAM, its only 1GB, without recording gmod goes normally at 90+ even with 4X MSAA, and 16x Antinostropic filtering. All other settings are as high as they go of course.)

But the how will I get 135fps in Crysis :O
This reminds me of my first thread in Facepunch asking for help on a PC build :allears:
I'm going to bookmark this thread if I ever need to be cheered up, I feel great when I read it.

You are making me happy with your responses to my hard work of making videos and drafting this thread!
I'm sure the hardest thing was making videos on your old GPU when you could be playing on the new one. It was torture for my system. I did 4-5 hours of recording and editing before I even started building.
;_;
So it's good you stuck with it and did before and after.

Yeah man, I got it and it tore me apart just looking for a working camera when I could be opening the box which arrival I have been awaiting for a week. Then when it died, I was like "fuck it" and went on. When I got it open and stuff I reminded me to record the other stuff first. Then I got it all uploaded, installed the new gold in my computer, and uploaded more stuff. Then I wrote the draft for the thread, took me forever with embedding the videos and everything. I had all the media in it tagged with tags, not the new ones. So I had to rewrite all of those... pesky little facepunch.
Yea, I was hoping you'd take a picture of the box with my Facepunch logo on the corner.
:3:
Yes, I hand type my emoticons.
Damn you're a nice guy Brt5470 :buddy:
Ya know what... I think I'm gonna go play some games... I mean actually play them. Experience the feeling of the new graphics. Not just record with lower fps.
Go ahead, have fun

That'd be very appreciated, but alas, my computer's PSU probably can't handle that.
