So I'm not sure what to call this because I haven't seen anything remotely similar to it when trying to google it. Every time I boot up, the disk drive seems to be stuck in a loop similar to a car with a dying battery. It doesn't interfere with any other program and the rest of the PC runs fine while it's doing so, but whenever I try to insert a CD for anything, it doesn't read it and continues to loop. When I try to check it's properties through Windows explorer, it causes explorer to freeze up and requires it to restart.
In the past, I just let it sit and wait for it to stop, but now it takes upwards to an hour or more for it to quit. When I open the tray it stops, but when I close it back up it continues. Is there a fix to this sort of problem or is it time to just get a new CD drive?
Here's a visual to help explain it. Again, I haven't seen anything on google that's similar to this.
