Probably because I reformatted.
Anyways. I'm trying to get my computer back up to speed, and all that's left is my sound. I have none. Dxdiag thinks I have no sound card.
I can't remember what sound card I bought to upgrade with so long ago, and I have no idea what I'd be looking for if I opened up my computer.
Is there a program or something that can tell me what sound card I have?
This is on Vista, by the way.
device manager
Gonna need a bit more info than just that.
start > right-click computer > manage
Okay... And then?
Device Manager
You people are less useful than Yahoo Answers.
What do I do in Device Manager?!
"Sound, video, and game controllers" probably.
OP at the 5th post in this thread you became a bit stupid.
As a human being im sure your capable of having a look around for yourself?
If you had looked,
"Sound, video, and game controllers"
would be dead obvious.
Device manager sucks, on numerous occasions it had failed to tell me what sound card I was using.
Probably wont say anything without any drivers installed.
Did you actually buy a sound card or are you using the on board sound?
Doesn't Speccy show you this info.
Try running Windows Update. Sometimes it can pick up your hardware and download drivers for it.
