Computer will not turn on at all, only beeps a few times

When I press the power button to turn on my main computer, it does not start. No fan noise, no startup clicks or anything, it just goes BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP and then repeats until I unplug it. Last night I was just browsing the internet, doing nothing to make it overheat or anything like that, when all of a sudden the fan got really really loud, so I went to the start menu and shut down the computer, but it wouldn't shut down and the fan was really frighteningly loud, so I just held the power button until the computer stopped, and now it won't do anything at all. It's an HP computer if that helps.
Do you know your specs?
What motherboard is it?
How many beeps?
in ur manual it'll tell you what the beeps are.

I found this.
It turned out the RAM wasn't in properly, check it. Remember to ground yourself before touching your computer parts.
Is the beeping just constantly, or is it like 3 beeps, then another 3, or what?
Welp, turns out it was the cooling fan. I took out all the parts one by one to see if it would run and it did without the cooling fan. I replaced it with an older one of mine and just like that the computer is fixed. Anyone know anything about how to tell if a cooling fan is busted? It doesn't appear any different than it normally would.
I almost shit myself thinking you ran your PC without the cooling fan.

I never understood how you do this? Is it just not being mid-air while touching your computer, or what is it all about?

I don't mean RAN ran, I just meant that it would start up, no monitor or peripherals or anything. :v:

Ground yourself by 1: ESD Bracelet to PC Chassis.
2: Grab onto the chassis, when it's still plugged in
3: Find a common ground.
Prevent ESD by:
1: Wear an ESD bracelet
2: Don't rest PC equipment on carpet. EVER, I don't give a fuck how clean your mom makes it.
3: Use anti-static packages.
4: Don't remove components while the PC is charged (Hooked up to the socket, with the PSU still active)

Oh right. Well I would be surprised if a cooling fan would cause your PC not to boot.

Mang, I touch all my parts while the case is on the carpet and aint no static come by.

Touch the inside of your case.

Probably has a safety feature, like it won't start with a broken fan. I really have no idea wither it can detect if it's broken or not.
I think I've been lucky with EDS and electrical shock.
I fucked up my finger touching a running xbox harddrive, It hurt like a bitch. It was mostly plastic inside so I wasn't grounded to the case.
On an almost unrelated note I have a scar from a almost bone deep cut on a harddrive, I have no luck with those things almost every time I touch one I get hurt plugged in or not.
I also jammed my finger into my cpu cooler and drew blood but that was just stupidity, lets just say I haven't learned my lesson when it comes to fans.
My friend touched my PSU fan. The fan won.

It does have a way of checking if the fan is installed. I can see BIOS checking to see if the CPU FAN circuit is completed. It does have a way for checking the fans RPM, so I'm sure it can figure out if it exists.

Well, the beep codes did say that it meant BIOS or checksum error. The computer has been working fine since I replaced the fan, although it's a bit louder. I put the original fan back in and it worked perfectly fine, but I took it back out just to be safe.
